Kid Secretly Watches Deadpool On Another Passenger’s Screen, Gets Scared And Starts Crying, Mom Loses It

Surviving a flight on a packed plane, especially when there’s serious air travel chaos going on in the world right now, can be a daunting mission. Luckily, a can of Coke, headphones, and a movie you downloaded on your phone can make it if not exactly enjoyable, then pretty much bearable.

This is what the author of this viral story from r/AITA did. “I had a few movies downloaded on my phone, including the second Deadpool,” the 19-year-old who was on a flight to visit his parents wrote.

While he was watching it on his phone with the headphones in, the part where Deadpool gets ripped in half happened. “I can hear a (muffled) scream behind me.” The author looks back, and surely enough, there’s a kiddo no older than six years crying his eyes out over what he saw.

Now the kid’s mom steps in and before you know it, there’s a scene on board.

Mom made a scene on a plane because her child got upset over an r-rated film scene that a fellow passenger was watching on his phone

The passenger shared the whole incident in a post on the AITA subreddit

The author then clarified a few more things about the incident

Traveling with children has been a controversial topic since the dawn of time. While on one hand, parents with kids have no other option than to take their little ones on board with them, the fellow passengers are often less than impressed if they come to sit next to one.

At the moment, there’s no regulation stating the appropriate child age when they are allowed to travel. Skeptics claim that babies should not be allowed on long-distance flights, while some have suggested time and again baby-free seating zones. Yet, it seems like airline operators now have entirely different challenges to think of.

This summer is particularly challenging for many air travelers with no end to the chaos in sight. Across Europe, airline and airport workers, including pilots, are striking as airlines continue to deal with staffing shortages and inflation. Not only are workers asking for higher salaries, but they demand that airlines build back up to pre-pandemic staffing numbers.

In addition to your flight being potentially delayed or canceled, your experience at the airport itself may be chaotic. Travelers are enduring long lines at check-in counters, security and immigration. In fact, the number of flight cancellations and delays across Europe this summer is three to five times higher than in the United States.

The people on the internet agreed that the only person responsible for this situation was the mother

Honestly, it’s not even the kids fault. Kids are nosy and annoying. It’s the moms fault for not noticing what the kid was doing and yelling at the OP for entertaining him/herself on the plane.

It’s about teaching entitlement. Years ago, flying cross country, I had brought along a sandwich from my favorite deli. As I was eating a child walked up the aisle and told me his mother said I would share it with him. I told him she lied.

I would've asked him where his mother was, walked up to her and then proceed to eat the entire sandwich whilst maintaining eye contact with her

Such a stupid situation. I mean, sometimes (not always) parents with kids onboard are the worst type of passengers. Sorry, if it will offend anyone, but it is what it is. I work as flight attendant, and sometimes I am just wondering why airlines are not putting some parents on no-fly list after obvious flight safety endangerment. Once one lady with her kids was waiting on the stairs to embark, but I was boarding disabled passengers from the other door - due to our procedure you can board through one door only. She just told her kids to get inside behind the safety strap on the door and take their seats. When I have stopped them and asked them to go back to stairs, she became verbally and physically abusive. I just told her, that if she will continue behaving like this, she and her kids are not going anywhere. But wtf, if it would be possible, I would add her on no-fly list. P.S. - One of her kids was later running up and down the aisle just before touchdown.

NTA. OP is an adult, not the kids babysitter. OP probably wanted to unwind during a long flight and this happened to be the movie he wanted to watch.

Parents these days are getting ballsy with their parenting entitlement. I would of told her off, so she can learn to behave better in the future.

Idk who this mom is, but she's one of the reasons being around kids sucks and another validation why more ppl are choosing to be "child-free."

I must be a horrible mom. I watched Deadpool with my kids, because it's a funny movie. They weren't scared, and any inappropriate jokes went right over their heads.

I've been watching classic horror movies from a very young age, I'd just laugh if I seen that scene! You're a great parent, just having fun with your kids

I watched Deadpool 1 and have no desire to watch the second XD. Ryan Reynolds may be hot, but I don't want to see him naked ever again.

My kid would have gotten bored or asked me a ton of questions. Which would have been my reward for not noticing what was going on. Gruesome, yes, but not like they were watching Hostel or Saw! Great time to have the "movies aren't real" talk

Not sure why the kid would watch it either. Maybe something funny happened or got bored and came to that part. But agree with others in the mom should've paid attention. Person was trying to watch it themselves.

not sure why people are ripping into the mum for not noticing the kid was watching the movie, op said they didn't know how long the kid had been watching - the kid could have had a really unfortunate timing and just happened to see that scene or maybe mum was dozing off or something. however, yelling at op was not cool. s**t happens with kids, just comfort them and they'll be fine. there was no need to cause even more of a scene.

I don't think people are ripping into her for just not noticing her kid watching. It's the fact that she didn't know the kid was watching and then blamed the OP. She either should have noticed what her kid was doing and stopped it or just consoled/scolded the kid for snooping on someone else, like you said. Had she not involved the OP no one would be ripping into the mum.

Sag really, how extreme violence is more acceptable than a sex scene.

Is it? This was an R rated movie so it's not like it was rated any less than a movie with a graphic sex scene would be. Deadpool is a action/comedy. The violence is over the top in somewhat of a comedic fashion with the main character never really being hurt. If it's not your niche, that's cool, watch your graphic sex scene movies.
