Mom Asked Her Daughter For Something Fun Before Chemo Takes Her Hair
When her mother found a tumor and restarted chemotherapy last month, 33-year-old stylist Sarah K decided to do something about it. Sarah’s mother, an author and cancer survivor of 15 years, had her hair dyed pink and then styled into a Mohawk.
“She’s doing pretty good,” Sarah wrote on Reddit. “She found a tumor in the same breast last month and is scheduled for a double mastectomy after she finishes this chemo. She is thinking about tattoos covering the area where her breasts used to be rather than reconstruction, which I think will look awesome.”
Chemotherapy attacks rapidly growing cancer cells, but also attacks other growing cells in your body, such as those in hair roots. Hair usually begins falling out between two and four weeks after treatment begins.

Share on FacebookI think it is fabulous, tell your Mum she looks really great and should consider going for a younger style once her hair grows back. Best wishes to you both (and your family) :)
My mom is a three-time breast cancer SURVIVOR. A double mastectomy, chemo and radiation couldn't keep her down. She's amazing and the strongest, bravest person I know. Her stylist did a mohawk done on her hair too when she had chemo. It was funny and sad at the same time. Her hair grew back and she is doing great. Best wishes to your mom - if she's as awesome ask she looks then she'll be just fine. :-)
You ROCK this look! Prayers and blessings for your full and complete recovery brave Lady.
Nice Sweet Briar College shirt & colors! Good luck, cancer. You're fighting a Vixen now!
What a fun thing to do, although I'm sorry for the circumstances. Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way!
All the best for you!! Love the hair-but LOVE the attitude even more!!
Good fun! Wishing this lady the best in her therapy and after. Attitude is everything.
I think you are beautiful and have gonads the size of Texal! Have fun with it and have fun with it when it's gone! Wear it with pride. And my best wishes to you. Last year I shaved my head and kept it shaved until my girlfriends hair grew back after treatment. She thought I was nuts. it was one of the most liberating things I have ever done. Even my partner loved it and has been encouraging me to do it again.
that's a great attitude! both the mum and the daughter! a big hug <3
