Bored Celebs Recreate ‘The Princess Bride’ While In Lockdown, And People Say It’s Awesome
Special times call for special measures. While dealing with seemingly eternal quarantine hours, some of the brightest Hollywood stars were in no way on a vacation.
It turns out, the A-list crew like Joe Jonas, Jennifer Garner and Sophie Turner have been secretly working on a rather unusual recreation of “The Princess Bride.” Filmed entirely at the comfort of actors’ homes, the DIY fan film was shot using phones only. It was then mashed into a series of the classic that aired on Quibi this Monday and will go on for two weeks.
Jason Reitman, a filmmaker and man behind the idea, told Vanity Fair: “I just thought, Can we remake an entire movie at home? And I had seen that a fan-made Star Wars had been done.”

The fan film is also for a good cause since Quibi donated $1 million in the name of the project to the World Central Kitchen charity, which provides food to coronavirus victims.
The director, Jason Reitman, told Vanity Fair that the actors were more than happy to participate. “They’ve been working tirelessly for the last two to three months to create an entire movie from scratch, just because. The money is for a good cause, and it’s fun to connect with a movie you love.”
