Bored Celebs Recreate ‘The Princess Bride’ While In Lockdown, And People Say It’s Awesome
Special times call for special measures. While dealing with seemingly eternal quarantine hours, some of the brightest Hollywood stars were in no way on a vacation.
It turns out, the A-list crew like Joe Jonas, Jennifer Garner and Sophie Turner have been secretly working on a rather unusual recreation of “The Princess Bride.” Filmed entirely at the comfort of actors’ homes, the DIY fan film was shot using phones only. It was then mashed into a series of the classic that aired on Quibi this Monday and will go on for two weeks.
Jason Reitman, a filmmaker and man behind the idea, told Vanity Fair: “I just thought, Can we remake an entire movie at home? And I had seen that a fan-made Star Wars had been done.”

The fan film is also for a good cause since Quibi donated $1 million in the name of the project to the World Central Kitchen charity, which provides food to coronavirus victims.
The director, Jason Reitman, told Vanity Fair that the actors were more than happy to participate. “They’ve been working tirelessly for the last two to three months to create an entire movie from scratch, just because. The money is for a good cause, and it’s fun to connect with a movie you love.”
The director sought real-life couples living together for the romantic scenes so they could be in one frame
One of the funniest quirks about this remake is that not only did Reitman rarely speak with the actors during the shooting, they “didn’t communicate before or during either.” The director would send the instructions to the actors and simply “hope for the best.”
The playful feel also comes down to the fact that the actors are not in the same space while interacting. But this is deliberate and obvious, which makes the remake all the more bizarrely entertaining.

I love this movie. It’s my fourth favorite (after the Lord of the Rings trilogy, obviously)
I didnt like reading that people said nothing as good as the original. Well, yeah, its not a remake of the entire movie and its for charity!! Does everyone always have to be a Karen?
they're not trying to replace the original cast, they're just raising money for charity by making something people want to watch (because it's amusing, not because it's better than the actual movie)
