Zion Williamson Pledged To Cover The Salaries Of The Smoothie King Center Employees For 30 Days

View this post on Instagram

The people of New Orleans have been incredibly welcoming and supportive since I was Drafted by the Pels last June, and some of the most special people I have met are those who work at smoothie King Center. These are the folks who make our games possible, creating the perfect environment for our fans and everyone involved in the organization. Unfortunately, many of them are still recovering from long term challenges created by Katrina, and now face the economic impact of the postponement of games because of the virus. My mother has always set an example for me about being respectful for others and being grateful for what we have, and so today I am pledging to cover the salaries for all of those Smoothie King Center workers for the next 30 days. This is a small way for me to express my support and appreciation for these wonderful people who have been so great to me and my teammates and hopefully we can all join together to relieve some of the stress and hardship caused by this national health crisis. This is an incredibly resilient city full of some of the most resilient people, but sometimes providing a little extra assistance can make things a little easier for the community.

Giannis Sina Ougko Antetokounmpo is a Greek professional basketball player, he was born in Athens, Greece to Nigerian parents and spent his childhood being stateless. Though I could say a lot about the difficulties obtaining Greek citizenship for refugees I won't. But do take a look at that face, that is the face of a migrant, of a refugee. We are of a lot of different nationalities, living in a handful of continents, and there are a few different skin colours. All of us are human beings.

Kylie Jenner Donated $1 Million To Buy Protective Gear For First Responders

View this post on Instagram

I am speechless, my eyes are filled with tears of joy and my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. I made a wish to the Universe to gather protective masks for our brave healthcare workers and today my dream came true. One of my patients, a beautiful Living Angel just donated $1,000,000 to help us buy hundreds of thousands of masks, face shields, and other protective gear which we will have delivered directly to our first responders, as too many masks at hospitals are disappearing before making their way onto the faces of our front line heroes. I have never felt more blessed to be a doctor, as helping our brave ER and ICU workers feels just as gratifying as helping my own patients. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU @kyliejenner ❤️. You are my hero. This generous donation will help save many precious lives. Our world is a better place with you in it. I love you so much. Thank you X a million....

Shawn should donate $100k for every time him and Camilla do a dangerous photo-op outside their house. (Y'all are really not using your limited freedom correctly... A daily walk is for mental health, not for your celebrity wallets. NOT cute.)

Kevin Love Donated $100,000 Through The Kevin Love Fund To Go Toward Compensating Workers At The Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse

View this post on Instagram

Everyone reacts differently to stressful situations. And the fear and anxiety resulting from the recent outbreak of COVID-19 can be extremely overwhelming. Through the game of basketball, we've been able to address major issues and stand together as a progressive league that cares about the players, the fans, and the communities where we work. I'm concerned about the level of anxiety that everyone is feeling and that is why I'm committing $100,000 through the @KevinLoveFund in support of the @Cavs arena and support staff that had a sudden life shift due to the suspension of the NBA season. I hope that during this time of crisis, others will join me in supporting our communities. Pandemics are not just a medical phenomenon. They affect individuals and society on so many levels, with stigma and xenophobia being just two aspects of the impact of a pandemic outbreak. It's important to know that those with a mental illness may be vulnerable to the effects of widespread panic and threat. Be kind to one another. Be understanding of their fears, regardless if you don't feel the same. Be safe and make informed decisions during this time. And I encourage everyone to take care of themselves and to reach out to others in need -- whether that means supporting your local charities that are canceling events, or checking in on your colleagues and family.

Lady Gaga’s Beauty Line Donated 20 Percent Of One Week's Profits To Local Food Banks In Los Angeles And New York

View this post on Instagram

To Our HAUS, In the midst of COVID-19, it can be easy to feel powerless. We've been thinking a lot about our community and responsibilities in this time of uncertainty. Social distancing is one of the most important things we can do to control the spread of this virus and we encourage our community from across the world to participate if you can. As another way to take action, HAUS will be giving back to our Los Angeles & New York City communities by donating 20% of our profits from last week’s sales on Hauslabs.com to local food banks (@lafoodbank & @foodbank4nyc) in order to get food to those affected by the closing of schools and other places that offer this critical resource. Stay safe and strong for yourself and others. Sending love from our HAUS to yours 🖤

20%of profit.. which is, after all costs are deducted, so you had no loss anywhere... I find this a bit meager tbh.

Gwyneth Paltrow Donated $100,000 To The Frontline Responders Fund

View this post on Instagram

Along with ramping up testing, the single most critical need in the frontline fight against Covid is keeping our heroic medical teams healthy through full PPE gear which is in terribly short supply. If doctors and nurses and other hospital staff get sick they can’t keep working to save the rest of us. Access to the gear is available in enormous numbers. But serious logistics are required to get it fast to US hospitals that urgently need it. Flexport is one of the best in the world at this and is doing it pro bono. They have gotten grounded 787s and 747s at deep discounts and are using the funds raised already to start flying them daily, brining in over 2million PPEs a day! Every $125,000 we raise funds a round trip flight. If 6250 people give just $20 that’s over a million masks and other gear kits we can get to hospitals fast. All of this will know someone who needs this critical care but we’ve got to keep our medical frontline responders healthy. @bradfalchuk are supporting this and we encourage everyone to do whatever they can. Link is in my bio.
