Do you think you have the weirdest cat in the world? It turns out most people do, and they’re both right and wrong. Namely, cats’ behaviors, however strange they may seem, are pretty similar no matter where you go. Someone on Twitter asked people to share the weird things their cats do, and you can probably guess that the answers involve a lot of theft, knocking things over, turning on faucets, and staring ominously.

Take a look at some of the mischief and destruction other people’s silly cats get up to and comment with your own below!

That's sweet. Meanwhile, do you have a neighbor with a destroyed flowerbed by now?

I think some cats do stuff like that just to see if you are paying attention to them.

One of my cats sleeps with her eyes about a quarter to a third open, eyeballs rolling. Kinda spooky when you see it for the first time. You eventually get used to it, though.

She's not rolling her eyes, that's the "third eyelid" or nictating membrane. It's a flap of skin that slides from the inner corner (by the nose) to the outer corner for more eye protection.

That isn't rolling the eyes. Cats have a third eyelid inside the other two that moves out from the nose area. Possibly evolved to protect from sand as they are desert critters. I've seen it on doped up cats half open like that, and the eye is looking forward like normal behind it.

I have a cat too, and I can say with certainty that the line between a sleeping cat and a dead cat is not well defined.

One of mine sleeps in the 'strychnine-poisoned' twisted pose with her tongue out quite a bit. I always have to check to see if she's breathing!

Mine used to do the same. He looks possessed like that so I used to close his eyes until he learned to do it himself :D

First time I saw a cat sleep like that it freaked me out. I love when they sleep with the tongue sticking out. Sammy-Clos...4c4a66.jpg Sammy-Closeup-Tongue-2-5e29ac34c4a66.jpg

Cats don't roll their eyes : they have double eye lid: the inner ones close sideways.

Why are our adorable cats so fascinated with all the fixtures in the bathroom? Vets suggest that this might come from their wild instincts—still water in the great outdoors isn’t so fresh, and drinking from a bowl in a corner or up against a wall might feel like a vulnerable position. The flowing water that comes out of the sink or shower is simply more appealing for both of those reasons. There’s no wild explanation for why these weird cats like to use sinks as beds, but a sink is perfectly cat-sized and the porcelain might feel fresh and cool in hot weather.

If your pet cat is using inappropriate places as a toilet, though, there are several explanations. The first thing to try is always to take them to the vet for urine and blood analysis, because they could be acting out to show that they don't feel well.

If they have a clean bill of health, the problem could be that the litter box is not clean enough (in addition to frequent scooping, the box itself should be scrubbed out once a week,) in an inconvenient place (upstairs or downstairs, in a room that the cat finds unpleasant, or near their food,) or too small. If you have more than one cute cat, there could be a bullying situation preventing one from using the litter box, in which case the solution is to provide more boxes.

Why have a huge shelf that is completely empty? If not for your cat to climb?

That's actually a condition called hyperesthesia. In some cats it's just cute, but in ones like mine, he'll catch his tail and bite it enough to draw blood if he doesn't get his medication. It's due to a nerve disorder where he has tiny seizures resulting in twitching on his back and skin. To him it feels like someone is poking him, then he turns around and sees his tail and figures it's his F-ING TAIL! MUST KILL TAIL! It's sometimes called 'rippling skin syndrome' because that's what it looks like before he tries to catch his tail. Easily treatable with meds that don't have a long term negative effect. This has been my PSA for the day
