Do you think you have the weirdest cat in the world? It turns out most people do, and they’re both right and wrong. Namely, cats’ behaviors, however strange they may seem, are pretty similar no matter where you go. Someone on Twitter asked people to share the weird things their cats do, and you can probably guess that the answers involve a lot of theft, knocking things over, turning on faucets, and staring ominously.

Take a look at some of the mischief and destruction other people’s silly cats get up to and comment with your own below!

That's sweet. Meanwhile, do you have a neighbor with a destroyed flowerbed by now?

Why are our adorable cats so fascinated with all the fixtures in the bathroom? Vets suggest that this might come from their wild instincts—still water in the great outdoors isn’t so fresh, and drinking from a bowl in a corner or up against a wall might feel like a vulnerable position. The flowing water that comes out of the sink or shower is simply more appealing for both of those reasons. There’s no wild explanation for why these weird cats like to use sinks as beds, but a sink is perfectly cat-sized and the porcelain might feel fresh and cool in hot weather.

If your pet cat is using inappropriate places as a toilet, though, there are several explanations. The first thing to try is always to take them to the vet for urine and blood analysis, because they could be acting out to show that they don't feel well.

If they have a clean bill of health, the problem could be that the litter box is not clean enough (in addition to frequent scooping, the box itself should be scrubbed out once a week,) in an inconvenient place (upstairs or downstairs, in a room that the cat finds unpleasant, or near their food,) or too small. If you have more than one cute cat, there could be a bullying situation preventing one from using the litter box, in which case the solution is to provide more boxes.

Why have a huge shelf that is completely empty? If not for your cat to climb?

Very good cat. I was once cleaning the litter box, Tiger had to go, so he jumped in a bath tub and went straight into the drain.

This isn't a series of posts that are complaining, just pointing out odd/weird/uncommon behaviors of their cats.

I wish my cats did their business in the toilet (I’d even settle for the bidet, if I had one). I’d much rather flush than scoop, any day.

Well close enough, you wash your a*s in the bidet but that can be easily washed away.

Gracie stands in the litter box and pees and poops on the wee-wee pad. I have tried numerous litter boxes and litter to no avail. Ordered some " Scent " to add to the litter so she would go in there and Amazon sent me six pair of wool socks ? Don't think I was going to put the socks in the litter box ?

Your cat must have gotten to Amazon and made them change the order. I would be wary if I were you. That cat has mad skills. Except for the skill of peeing properly. Joking aside my cat poops in the box but refuses to pee in it's we use pee pads. She is 19 and stuck in here cranky ways. She's not sick, she's just a a*****e. :)

he's not stupid! He knows the other one has water in it, and he can't figure out how to pee there without getting wet. Smart CAT!

Close enough to the toilet as possible. As I said before... I've always been astonished at those able to teach their cats to do this (there are instructional books and videos). If the cat does it without training?? Now THAT would be really amazing!!

Yay! My ex had a cat when he was a kid that used to pee in the toilet AND flush. Why can't I have a cat that does that?

Well at least he knows what it is for. Mine throws his toys in the toilet and the garbage disposal. Poor little fury mouse toys keep getting drowned. Lid down at my house always.

And then there’s my boy kitty: the lazy fatass pisses against the wall of the litter box, making it harder for me to clean out (it sticks to the plastic walls, plus he waits too long to p**s, so it’s like the amount *I* p**s). He also shits on the floor, at various places, because he has this magical belief that his constipation will stop if he finds a better place to dump. He’s probably constipated because he waits too long. No matter what I do, including carrying him to and from the basement litter and trying to give positive reinforcement of proper behaviors... he just keeps doing it. There’s only so much you can love a pet when they make your daily life a PITA. I’ll finish my responsibility to my cats (the other one is a frequent puker, but they BOTH do that), but the cuteness of cats will not win me over to having any more after the two I have now are gone. And yes, cat-lovers, I’ve done everything for these cats. No amount of effort, money, or care is enough to change them.

That's actually a condition called hyperesthesia. In some cats it's just cute, but in ones like mine, he'll catch his tail and bite it enough to draw blood if he doesn't get his medication. It's due to a nerve disorder where he has tiny seizures resulting in twitching on his back and skin. To him it feels like someone is poking him, then he turns around and sees his tail and figures it's his F-ING TAIL! MUST KILL TAIL! It's sometimes called 'rippling skin syndrome' because that's what it looks like before he tries to catch his tail. Easily treatable with meds that don't have a long term negative effect. This has been my PSA for the day
