Here’s a strange sight that we don’t quite know what to make of: a concerned soul living on a farm built what they call a “cataquarium” for strays or outdoor cats that live in the area to seek shelter in when it gets cold or wet outside. The catch? One side of the enclosure is a window into the owner’s house, meaning that they get to see all the cats hiding inside!
All we know about the creator is that he lives on a farm and that he loves cats. That’s a bit too many cats for any one person to rescue, so providing them with some warmth and shelter seems like the next best thing!

I love this! I bought a house that came with over a dozen stray cats to our surprise! !
I LOVE this! I feel so bad when i see a cat outside or hear them meowing outside when it's freezing! Glad to see that someone else cares!
Buy plastic tubs with lids from Walmart. Cut a hole and fill with straw. This way your neighborhood cats will have warm place to sleep.

For cats that don't know each other to be packed so tightly, that's not natural for cats. There must not be any other shelters around..
They are farm cats. So they do know each other. Just not house cats. They live on his farm, take care of his vermin, etc.

Looks like he needs to build another one and put up heavy plastic strips in front of the opening to help block out some of the freezing air.
Wonderful man but he should contact cat rescues who will HELP him trap and fix them, then eventually there will NOT be too many cats. I've done it by myself and I know rescues will help.

By just putting a covered plastic box and old rag in your yard, you can save a cat, too. :)

We have five or six insulated, straw filled, and in 2 instances, heated cat shelters on our property. But elevating it is great!

That's NOT "too many to rescue"; I only count ten of 'em and I do that several times a year. All you have to do is spay and vaccinate.
