When it comes to getting attention, cats are for sure not beggars, but choosers. Humans find these little mammalian fluffballs hard to resist, and there’s no surprise there. Their cute-but-stoic face, their beautiful fur and elegant poses, all of them make it seem that cats just beg to be touched. But don’t make this mistake, folks. Cats, being the constant center of attention, rarely lack affection, and it’s up to them to decide when they want it.
Muji, this four-year-old cat from South Korea, perfectly illustrates the point. Though he is as cute and lovely as any other cat, Muji takes his alone time seriously, and shows it very expressly. Recently, one moment where Muji refused his owner’s cuddles went viral on the internet, and many, especially cat owners, found it funny and relatable. So let’s see what the fuss was all about.

For all of you baka gaijins out there, “tsundere” means “a stock love interest who is usually stern, cold, and sometimes hostile to the person they like and others. They will occasionally let slip their warm and loving feelings hidden inside. They hide their feelings due to being shy, nervous, insecure, or simply unable to help acting badly in front of their crush.

Just a random idea, but these two cats would for sure be a good duo in some sort of anime. Imagine a silly ginger ‘deredere’ cat with an arrogant, white ‘tsuntsun’ cat: the adventures they would have, the interactions, the dialogue… It would be epic. Anyway. One could only wish for it. Let’s hope this hilarious moment between them might spark an idea to someone who’s able to execute it.

My cat is actually coming every single morning to touch my nose with his for half a second. He come to my bed, jump for this litle kiss and go to the kitche to wait for food. I does it only once a day. Go figure.

When I had a cat during my teenage years, my cat always jumped into my bed at 6:00am. This was my wake-up time. I always slept on my stomach, so I would wake up to purring directly in my ear, and the paw kneading on my back. This was my cat wanting snuggles and attention from being lonely all night. My cat also had a very specific table that he sat on, that he signaled me to basically play with him.
I get a head bump when it's time to feed her in the morning. That is all.
Exactly, I have had cats (domesticated and Feral, they want to be able to trust you, and the human has to move slow and steady until you see them start to relax, and do really slow movement, it might help with Tuna, Chicken, any other protein and move slow, one movement at a time and do the slow blink. They will melt in your arms soon to read their body language and not press it. Just set there with them and as long as it takes without startling the animal. Good Luck. You can also Google questions. If I may, I agree that breeding animals with genetic health problems purely for looks is a terrible thing to do, but there are many of these cats that are already alive regardless of ethics. They deserve loving homes just as much as a cat without these health issues. Rather than attacking people who give them love while they're living this life with us, maybe turn that anger toward ways to stop the people who DO bring them into this world forcefully. Scoffing at the existence of an animal that didn't ask to be here won't stop the problem.

I don't normally say the things I did, we all have opinions, but posters statement ere derogatory about the poor, but beautiful cat. I've been around different and exotic cats all my life, and I have NEVER heard those comments about ANY breed.
Posting articles and pictures showing how "cute" those overbred cats are without any mention of the debilitating condition they suffer from (osteochondrodysplasia) WILL inspire reactions such as the post fromTerry Tobias and encourage people to buy those breeds. So just go away with your appeasement please.
I'd really rather not. Just like you, I have every right to post my opinion on these matters regardless of if you agree with me or not. I apologize if my thoughts upset you in any way, but no matter how these pets came into this world, a loving owner will still want to post pictures of their furry family like anyone else. If people are so "inspired" to go out and get these cats directly from a breeder (which is expensive, mind you) they should do the research on the breed. The anger and cynicism behind your statements is valid, but you'll likely get further by turning it toward stopping those who are breeding them, not those who are already caring for them. I do discourage people actively seeking to adopt them, and while pictures of these cats may spark a want for other people toward this breed, I can't tell the owners not to post. I'd be equally as upset if someone tore into me for posting pictures of my huskies because they have a higher risk of hip dysplasia later in life.

Turning to the other end of this argument, I'll have to ask everyone with a similar opinion to Miss Patti's to maybe take a moment and consider both sides have pros and cons. So long as breeders aren't bringing cats into this world knowing that they come with health issues such as cartilage deficiency, the known breed history can be helpful in caring for your cat (or any other animal) in the future. On the other hand, cats that find themselves in shelters are just as deserving of loving homes as those with pedigrees and whatever highly desired breeds that come from breeders. I wouldn't call people who prefer shelter rescues tree huggers, but rather other kind people who choose to give shelter cats a second chance at life with a family. Lashing out at either side does no one any good, and only serves to create more mindless drama to fuel the fire of social media. Everyone has a right to their choices and opinions, but keeping a level head is better for not only everyone around you, but yourself as well.
Thank you, Emma, for using common sense and understanding that these cats aren't to blame simply for being bred. All cats deserve a loving home, regardless if their breed is inherently angry or unhealthy. Humans should not punish them simply for existing, especially when it's humans who breed them. We should give them all good homes, while still fighting to stop the breeding of certain unhealthy animals.
Of course, and thank YOU for your supporting words. We can only hope others see the same sense. Hiding behind a screen and letting cynicism boil isn't helpful. I am so sick of people promoting cat and dog breeds with deformed charitaristics, especially when they are 'trendy' like pugs and Scottish folds. Causing something to be in pain because you like the way they look is just selfish cruelty. For anyone that doesn't know, cats with folded ears look like this because they have a genetic weakness of the cartilage. Their ears basically collapse under their own weight. This weakness affects all cartilage in their body, not just ears, leading to joint problems and chronic pain.
So how do you know this isn't a rescue from a shitty breeder, or any other situation besides they bought him from a breeder and promote the breed.
Because Japanese people pay upwards of $10,000 fir these special breeds. British Short-hair with specific fur patterns are very costly.
Rescue cats are exceedingly rare in Japan. Almost no one does it, they all buy "new" cats. And considering these people seem to have bought cats that are colour coordinated with their house's design...
Actually I am concerned this is not genetically a Scottish Fold. There appear to be red baby pins holding the ears down in the first picture. I'm afraid the ears were manually made to look this way.
The hair clips are there only on one photo, but if look on the third onwards there's no hairclip. I think It was just an acessorie for a single shot

Taking a closer look, I can say you may be right. I can only hope that isn't the case. I'd rather the cat just be a Scottish Fold than being made to endure hair clips like that.

While I completely agree with you that intentionally breeding animals with genetic health problems is sincerely egregious, I can't say I agree that they are "promoting" the breed itself. I don't think people should actively seek out an animal with these harmful issues purely for their looks, but in this case these animals are already alive and being cared for, regardless of how they were brought here. I don't see the need to tell people not to take pictures of the furry family members they love purely because you don't agree with their existence. I've never personally sought out specific breeds, but if I happened upon one of these little ones in a shelter, I wouldn't turn away or refuse to take pictures of them because that would just be cruel. Let people share photos of the pets they already have and love and maybe turn your ire toward those who actively breed them, not the people who're caring for those living beings.

We put ourselves in these contraptions. The cats have no choice, you can't "take off" your genetics for the night.
