This Lovely Cat Feels And Acts Like He’s Not Any Different From His ‘Brothers’ (30 Pics)
One American Shorthair cat recently infiltrated a gang of three Shiba Inus, and the dogs don't even realize there's a spy among them!
One Japanese couple have had Shibas for years, but the wife also wanted a cat. "The reason why I wanted to expand our family with a cat rather than a dog was quite simple: I've had a cat in the past," the woman told Bored Panda. "But when I told my husband that I wanted a kitty, I learned he wasn't very fond of cats. I kept at it, but he refused every time. After some time, however, I was able to find a cat we both liked."
The couple started looking for a gray kitty with short fur and standing ears. "I also looked for a breed that was really compatible with dogs. Eventually, we settled on the American Shorthair."
The couple picked a breeder in Kanagawa and soon brought home a new addition to their pack, Kiki. Right from the start, the kitty fit right in. Now, he's become so close to his Shiba siblings, he's even started to act like them!

I'm shocked and pleased that, as of my writing this, nobody has gone on the attack due to the word "breeder." I certainly believe and agree that rescues should be the first choice, but it's obnoxious and wearying to keep attacking the people mentioned in these stories here who may or may not even be reading these comments.

Kiki's owner got to see just how close he got to the Shibas back in February. "I took Kiki and our dogs to a Shiba Inu party," their mom said. "Kiki was getting along with all the dogs just fine, but one of them suddenly started barking at him. Immediately, one of our Shibas, Saki, barked back, protecting Kiki. At that point, I understood they've become true companions."
Now, Kiki and the Shibas are doing everything together. From napping to exploring the outdoors, they're always by each other's side. "The Shibas are usually quiet at home, so Kiki seems to be able to rest whenever he wants with a peaceful mind," the cat's owner added. "Sometimes Kiki does something athletic before going to bed at night and joins us in the bedroom to get some sleep."
"I often hear that it's the dogs who get used to their owner's sleeping schedule, and cats are the jerks who get up early and wake you up at 4 AM or something like that, but Kiki also sleeps together with the rest of us until morning." Seems like happy families grow alike despite what species their members are.

There's nothing wrong with ensuring the pet you get has a suitable temperament, by buying a specific breed from an ethical breeder. Please don't buy breeds that have health issues, like pugs or scottish folds. And if you don't have specific temperament requirements, please consider adopting from a shelter. Always spay and neuter your pets, and remember that a pet is a commitment. Get pet health insurance if you do not have savings. Petition your government to make it illegal to refuse to allow pets in rental accommodation.

To be honest, shiba inus are very cat-like really. We call ours a dog-cat mix. So it's no surprise that this kitty blends in so well
These buddies are so calm and well trained. The photographer has some excellent set-ups. The animals are in very good condition, are happy, and seem to enjoy being together. Wins all around.
Shibas are cat software in dog hardware, so not surprised they got along with the cat :)
The human companions have sure done a good job raising these furkids! The photos are all fab... love the relationship between the doggos and their cat-brother.
This article should give much more credit to the owners! Not only did they take time and effort to choose animals that would fit the household, they obviously spend a lot of time training and caring for them!
