Here Are 22 Pics Of My Cat And Horse Who Have Been Inseparable Friends For The Last 6 Years
Champy the horse and Morris the cat have been best friends for over 6 years, they hang out together every day despite them both having friends of their own species.
I went into an animal shelter one day and Morris was sitting in a cage staring at me, he wouldn’t take his eyes off me, I was his chosen human. He was born at the shelter and was about 9 months old when I took him home. I still can’t believe no one wanted him, he’s the friendliest cat you’ll ever meet. I already had Champy who was about 12 months old. I introduced them and Champy instantly fell in love with Morris and knew they’d be best friends. Morris, however, took a few days to convince probably because of Champy’s size but after a few days of Champy hanging out with him, and not taking no for an answer Morris jumped up on his back and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Although Morris often goes riding they also love grooming each other, catnapping together, drinking from the horse trough together, and lots of smooching and being silly together.
One of the most commonly asked questions I get is how does Morris jump onto Champy? Typically it’s via a fence post that’s been nicknamed the bus stop. I have 3 other horses and 1 other cat who are all rescue animals. I have a GoFundMe campaign to help with my other horses. Champy and Morris love knowing we’re helping other rescue animals have a better life. Champy and Morris can be found on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

Size and species don’t matter when it comes to friendship
Best friends come in all shapes, sizes, ages, colors and even species!
“I’ll shelter you from the rain”
It was about to start raining so Champy covered Morris with his big head – that’s what friends are for.
Watching kangaroos together
We live in NSW Australia and have quite a few kangaroos on the property – Champy and Morris love to watch them, Champy has always wanted to befriend a kangaroo but hasn’t managed yet. Wild ones are very shy, but he keeps trying.
Winter morning sunshine sleep in
Champy has his very own back warmer for those cool winter mornings.
Handsome Morris with his favorite turtleneck
Morris has a wardrobe collection of costumes and outfits, this is his all-time favorite, his oatmeal turtleneck. Simple yet sophisticated.
Morning horse ride
Looks like a royal procession with Dusty one of my rescue horses following. Morris has got his own entourage.
“You look that way, I’ll look this way”
It’s always good to have each other’s back.
Jennifer, Champy, and Morris
Me with the dynamic duo, I don’t have many pics of the three of us as I’m usually behind the camera.
One of Morris’s favorite mounting blocks – the fence post – also nicknamed his bus stop
Typically how Morris jumps on board Champy is via one of many fence posts. If Champy sees him waiting he’ll go over to collect him.
Morris loves smooching with Champy’s eyelashes
They love hanging out and just being affectionate with one another.
On top of the world
The view must be better from up there.
Friends that drink together stay together
They love spending time together even doing the simple things.
Morris won’t ride bareback anymore he slips off too easily
Morris used to ride bareback but he slipped off too easily and now only rides if Champy has a rug on.
Best friends forever
Champy loves Morris’s head boops
Morris loves a sunrise horse ride
Every cat needs a rainbow
Best friends under a rainbow
Morris loves greeting the sunrise on horseback
Catnapping together
Why walk when you can ride
Morris’s happy place

Share on FacebookThis is adorable. Not sure why your horse is dressed like a 82 year old man in an 80's disney movie though.
So sweet! One thing, though: do put something your cat (or other animals) can use to climb out of the water trough! A plank with a weighted end and attached at the rim of the trough would be great but even a thick, heavy branch will work fine. There's only so long a cat, or bird, or other small creature can swim.
Thanks for advice there is one in there

It's hilarious how in almost all the pictures, at least in this post, Morris is facing the opposite direction of Champy.
Yes for some reason it's his favourite direction maybe he cant see over Champy's big head the other way around

I was living in a neighborhood in San Francisco that was near Golden Gate Park and once passed a coffeehouse that had a couple of the park’s rangers’ horses tied to a pair of parking meters, which I petted for a few minutes (after securing permission, of course), and when I got home my cats could not stop sniffing my hands and the places on my clothing that had brushed against the horses.
Very handsome cat, but who puts a sweater on a cat? They don't need it and it's stupid.
They're absolutely adorable, but please, stop putting your cat into costumes. That's what they have fur for, they don't need any clothing.
Oh shut up, clearly the cat is happy and fine.
