Woman Says She Always Wakes Up Tired, Sets Up A Camera To Witness Her Cat Constantly Tapping Her Body For 4 Hours Straight
Interview With AuthorIt’s no secret that having a good night’s sleep is one of these holy things we don’t really experience that often. Blame it on stress, room temperature, eating too much before bed, or the wrong phase of the moon, but sometimes the reason is much more mysterious.
But one woman who goes by the handle @susieandmollie on TikTok had had enough of constant fatigue after what seemed to be a decent night’s sleep. So she set up a night cam to find out what was up. Sooner than she knew it, the culprit was busted in plain sight, prodding her from 11 pm till 3 am straight like there was no tomorrow for either of them.
So, ladies and gents, meet Ginger, the sneaky cat with cattitude also known as a serial nocturnal prodder.
This TikToker who always felt tired in the mornings set up a night cam to see what could be waking her up, and the culprit was finally busted

Bored Panda reached out to Susie, the woman behind this viral video featuring her sneaky meowzer waking up her at night. Susie, who works from home with a small business of building showjumps called “Horses 4 Courses Showjumps,” told us that she got her now internet-famous feline Ginger 15 years ago.
“We got Ginger and his brother Brock in 2005 as kittens at 8 weeks old. They are both now 16 and very much loved members of the family.” Turns out, “Ginger is definitely the needy one out of them both.” Susie also said he loves being around her all day and evenings. And nights… from what we’ve seen so far in the clip.

Apart from two cats, Susie has two horses, Mollie and Echo, “and Mollie is, of course, the Mollie from my TikTok name,” she said, referring to her TikTok handle @susieandmollie. Susie has amassed 4317 followers and 82.1K likes on the video-sharing app.
When asked about Ginger’s viral behavior that keeps her up at night, Susie explained that he does so because he wants to cuddle. “He doesn’t like to go under the covers as he gets too hot, so he prefers me to wrap my arm around him. He sleeps for a few hours, then leaves.”
“If I don’t wake up right away, he continues to prod me till I do,” Susie said and added he is still doing this, yet she assured us that she wouldn’t want it any other way.

Susie could never have expected her TikTok to go as viral as it did. “I had hoped the TikTok would get likes, but I was blown away with over 39k! And all the comments!”
And here’s what other people had to say about this unlikely disturber

My cat is 17 years old and I give her what she wants even if that means sacrificing a little sleep 😴 .😄
Load More Replies...A gently touching cat won't wake you. But half of the time the telly is on. Maybe switching it off would help a lot more to find some better sleep.
possibly a light sleeper n her cat is preventing her from gg into deep sleep since she seems to be moving constantly in her sleep
Load More Replies...My cat sleeps between my legs but on top of the covers, so it's very difficult for me to roll over and change sleeping positions during the night, so most mornings i wake up sore!
I'm with Ariana here, play your cat tired before bed time. I always have my evening routine, take the dog for a walk, play with the cat, clean the litterboxes, both get some treats and of to bed we go. I've never been woken by any of them...except if one has to puke 🤣
My cat right before bed will snuggle and cuddle until my eyes are closed then he stis on my nightstand. I open my eyes and he comes back. Always wakes me up around 620 if I'm not already up. I love him sooo much 💓💓💓
My cat just bounces around the house until she tires herself and then she takes my bed :I
I wake up at 3am to find my cat sitting next to head and tapping my face repeatedly. No idea.
Um, her television is on, but she's blaming the cat? TV needs to be off about 2hrs before bedtime if you want good quality sleep. The cat probably isn't her only issue. My cat likes to sleep on top of me and she moves around the room through the night, but that's not enough to wake me and I'm a light sleeper (I wake when she starts making noise in the early morning). Also if you want to train your cat out of bad habits like prodding you awake you need to not give it attention when it does so, or push it away instead of petting it.
She states that she forgot to turn it off which makes it seem that was the ONLY time that happened. So the TV is not the problem.
Load More Replies...This is why I never allow any cat into the bedroom. If you let them in once, you're doomed! You cannot keep them out again because they will disturb you until you open the door and they can disturb you some more.
GINGER is fat and also not properly taken care of, that's why it's displaying this behaviour. Glad most people think it's cute!
My 15 year old tortie has recently started poking me in the nose every few seconds when I'm first trying to fall asleep and she still wants pets. If I open my eyes at all it encourages her to keep going...probably because I can't help but giggle since everytime I look I'm greeted with two huge staring eyes about two inches from mine. Rolling over doesn't help because she just leaps over to the other side and if I bury most of my head in the blanket (always leaving a tiny nose opening for breathing comfort) she just reaches in the blanket face tunnel and pokes some more. It's too adorable to resist and she usually wins by getting a few more pets. But at least she doesn't turn off the alarm on my phone in the mornings anymore...she figured out a long time ago that I always touched the screen to make the noise stop (snooze button addict here) so I eventually had to upgrade to an alarm that makes you do math to turn it off. Love my silly tortie girl to bits.
Oh my gosh.. 😆 reminds me of my cat Kit-kit. She also jumps on the bed, meows and taps me until I lift up part of my blanket for her to burrow under for the night. Usually she'll do this before I fall asleep or just as I'm about to fall into a deep sleep & smacks me out of it Maybe ginger just wants to cuddle under the blanket, in a very annoying way for 4hrs non stop.
I usually sleep with my cat. But last week my brother has been taking him to his bedroom to sleep with him... My nights are awful without my cat 😭😭 I can't sleep without him
Here's a thought: Turn off "American Guy" on the television. Maybe the cat is just annoyed by the TV? I would be.
I have three cats all close to ten lbs, that does that to me all night long or decide to sleep close to my head, and at seven in the every morning one will step on my sleep apnia machine to turn it off so I wake up in a gasp So now I have three cats looking at me like " Well since you are up feed us"
I love my cats like crazy but this is just the reason I lock them out (of my room, not of the house). They’re sleeping from noon till 23:00 and then start partying. o.O
My cat would nibble the soft flesh between my thumb and index finger to wake me up. One morning, I decided to ignore it. When she didn't get a response from that usual spot, she began nibbling on my wrist. Getting no response there either, she climbed on top of my chest, looked up as though she was thanking the Goddess Bastet for her meal and chomped down hard in my nose! I then realised my cat wasn't waking me affectionately every morning to give her food, she was checking if I had died so she could eat my corpse. I still love her though...(laughs nervously)
We had a headboard that had two tall cabinets on each side. Every single night my cat would dive bomb my gut in the middle of the night by jumping off them
No health problems you know of? Maybe sleep apnea? Sometimes, pets sense body function changes and will wake us up. I would get it checked out. Just in case. Ginger May notice you aren't breathing for a few seconds or a minute, and paw at you to wake up. Just an FYI.
He wants to crawl under the covers with her. My cat will lightly bop me on the nose until I lift the covers and let her snuggle into my arm nook.
Kick the cats out of the bedroom at night. Yes, you will have a couple of days of paws under the door and wailing...but they aren't stupid. If you flat out refuse to open the door, they'll give up.
She must be a light sleeper if the cat can wake her up by touching her gently.
We keep a bowl of "treats" (hard cat food) in bowl by my bed side lamp. They refused to eat hard cat food until I fed it to them like a treat. All night I have 4 cats walking over my back to get to their "treat" bowl. I feed them soft food in the kitchen. I get stepped on then I hear crunch crunch in the darkness. They only eat a few small bites at a time.
