When a woman finds a fashion designer or brand that puts decent pockets on skirts or pants we let EVERYONE know. Same with comfy bras that support.
"Wrangler" blue jeans still have proper pockets, as do many jeans and pants marketed for outdoorsy women.

Phones are getting bigger yet women's pockets are getting smaller. Sort that s**t out!!!!
Usually we don't get pockets at all, just fake ones that LOOK like a pocket is there but don't have a friggin pocket!
Women USED to have decent pockets, and those of us who are old enough to remember think fondly of those days. The best explanation I've heard for the wimpy girl pockets is that designers wanted to find a way to sell more totes and handbags, so they created the need while offering the "official" explanation that smaller pockets are "more slimming."
This is when clothing companies don't think about their costumers.
I saw this while listening to a radio show about the evolution of pockets, why women's clothing initially eliminated pockets and why, even today, women's clothes have few pockets or pockets in name only. A woman (journalist?) visited a store that sold police uniforms and asked to see the women's uniforms. The manager said he might have some but the women all bought men's because the women's pockets were useless.
They're designed that way to make women carry purses as opposed to simply putting s**t into your pockets. I hate pants shopping....
Not a piece of clothing for any sex on the planet that has THREE METER pockets.
I rely on pockets because a purse is a distraction for me and makes me a target for snatchers.

Fortunately, I'm a seamstress (sorry, NOT a sewer...) - as long as they've done the hard part, I can make them longer really easily.
I think this is more like a trending that hasn't been correct yet? Maybe most women will have their purse and valuables in their bags on that era so the pocket become more like a decorations?
While women's pockets are indeed much smaller than men's, the difference is most certainly not 3 mm versus 3 meters... more like 7 cm and 17 cm.
Women with male partners found a way around that - they just make him carry all her stuff in his pockets too ;-)
Men get teased for carrying bags so we have to fit everything in our pockets. Also, a lot of women wear tight fitting jeans where pockets would be useless. Oh. On suit jackets they are often fake pockets.
Whatever. I don't want big pockets on my jeans. My man carries his phone, keys, knife, etc. in his jeans. I don't.
I must be a traitor to my own kind, but what do women need pockets for? Don't most women love to lug a handbag around? I carry a clutch, dont use pockets and I get on just fine?
Yuck. I HATEE purses, clutches, etc. I usually wear a men's hoodie if I don't have pants with pockets just so i can carry my phone, wallet, and keys.

I do not understand this constant complaint on women's pants lack of pockets. It's only tight women's pants that have no or very small pockets and it's for a good reason. Big pockets on tight pants would be idiotic, as the pockets would crumple, look bad through the fabric and be really inconvenient.
I'm sorry but you're wrong, Lucida. I have loose trousers for the office that don't have pockets. I have culottes that have fake pockets (look like pockets but don't open).

Dude, even not tight pants barely have pockets. Finding a brand of jeans that has them is like finding the holy grail. I about buy stock when I manage to find good ones.

Here's the progression of events: 1. Dinner Maker (DM) starts off telling Dinner Eaters (DE) that dinner is ready WHEN it's ready. DE tell DM "I'll be out in a few minutes." FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER, DE finally come out to eat, and complain that the food is cold. 2. DM gives verbal updates: "Dinner will be ready in 10 minutes." DE fail to wrap up what they're doing, and are still 10 minutes late. Microwave Battle Royale ensues. 3. In an effort to get everyone fed in a timely manner, DM straight up lies about dinner being ready, people actually come out right away, complain to DM for the next 10 minutes that they're hungry, and attack the casserole dish like a pack of starving wolverines when it comes out of the oven. But hey, the food isn't cold! 4. DM cycles among scenarios 1-3 for the next several years until becoming inured to the surrounding DE pathos, finally says "screw it," and fixes her own plate and starts eating without 'em. The End :)
