Artist Challenges Herself To Draw Cartoons In Their Official Style, And Then Her Own (34 Pics)

#StyleChallenge invites artists to reimagine their drawing ideas in different cartoon styles, and Elena Manetta is one of those who conquered it.
This freelance artist from NYC drew some of the most popular characters in their original styles and then did her own take on them.
"Sometimes poses from stylized character designs don’t translate 1:1 to other art styles," Elena writes on her website. "Things need to be tweaked according to what you’re going for."
Manetta's unique art style is pretty distinctive. "I really like drawing overly muscular characters," she says. "I don’t know if that's obvious from my own cartoon drawings or not. It allows me to give a lot of curvy features to a man without making them look feminine."

I prefer the new drawings to the old ones in the vast majority of cases (aside from. 14, 15, and 24). Nice job!

I have to admit, this is a good idea for anyone who wants to set themselves a challenge in drawing cartoon characters. When it comes to art, I've never been great at doing much except the exact copies of existing characters (mostly from TV shows like "Pokémon", "Rugrats", "Looney Tunes", etcetera). However, I might decide to select a few random cartoon characters, draw their original designs first & then try & come up with my own personal idea how to depict them. It won't be easy, but it might be fun to try...✏️🎨 💭
most i prefer the remakes; some i prefer the orginal; and very few i like neither.

They look more stylish but ... misses the point.

The artists of the cartoons today are hacks, this artist's work is waaaay better!
Your style looks better, but I seriously doubt you could make an animation with them.
So many comics need this overload - they have to be crazy, exaggerated, stupid .. anyway. Realistic change would be destroy these characters

She probably drives other things this is just her topic at the moment I'd like to see your post on something new and creative drawn are you like me and can't do anything better than glorified stick people you're just jealous that you suck at drawing
