Camera Captures Adorable Moment Little Boy Sneaks Out Of His Bed To Sleep With His Dog
Most of us would never get out of bed in the middle of the night. Unless you’re one of the cursed (or chosen) ones who get up at 3AM for mysterious reasons. But that’s a whole different story.
But 23-month-old Finn Knudston has a very solid reason. You see, the boy has his big best four-legged friend forever sleeping on the floor in his room. And the nanny camera shows that Finn is not ready to part with his boxer Brutus. Like, not even for 8 hours.
In the adorable footage, Finn is seen grabbing his blanket in the middle of night, climbing out of bed, and joining Brutus on a floor mat to sleep together. While Brutus barely moves, Finn is trying to make himself comfy even if it takes using his furry friend as a pillow. His mom Paige, from Richmond, Virginia, said that “whether it be in the dog bed, Finn’s bed, or the floor, the two always sleep together,” and my heart is melting.

Nighttime camera captured the adorable moment Finn sneaked out of bed to join Brutus on the floor mat
After mom found Finn all curled up next to the family boxer dog Brutus, she was intrigued to find out how it happened and set up a camera. The hilarious footage showed Finn clambering all over Brutus for over 5 minutes while the 4-year-old barely moved.
Mom Paige commented to Bored Panda that “Initially, Brutus would sleep on the rug in front of his crib every night.” But when Finn started sleeping in a bed, “Brutus began crawling up and sleeping in bed every night; it was as if he laid next to him to prevent him from rolling out of bed.” It’s only when Finn started climbing out of his bed that Brutus began sleeping next to him as well.
Paige, who’s an emergency room nurse, said that Brutus has always slept with his little buddy because “he senses he needs extra protection.”
Paige explained that when she was 20 weeks pregnant with Finn, “the anatomy scan showed that he had a cyanotic heart defect called transposition of the great arteries.” The family was very lucky to have found this out prior to his birth or “he would not be here with us today,” she said.
It took a path full of challenges for the little boy to finally be home with his family. “Finn had his arterial switch at 11 days old and did great and after seven weeks, a few unexpected complications, and an additional surgery,” the boy was finally discharged from the hospital. Paige said that in that moment, “it was as if Brutus just knew Finn needed some extra close monitoring and he has been by his side ever since.”

LOL, true. It was also a little UNCOMFORTABLE to watch... I started to get sore just looking at it. And poor kiddo really needed someone to pull up his blanket for him!
Load More Replies...Boxers are truly, truly the best. I have two and they are the most affectionate, loving, gentle giants.
I have to agree. I grew up with a boxer and I feel like they are the best family dog.
Load More Replies...I'll probly get s**t for this but I feel bad for the dog.. jeez, it's trying to sleep and this thing is just crawling all over it; almost, if not slightly, kicking it in the face.
Think about all of the ignorant people that get a dog, only to stake it outside, without any love or companionship, vet care, and barely enough food to get by. They are clueless to what real love is! Finn will never forget his bed buddy. That video is as precious as a boy and his precious pup get!!!!
Boxers are brilliant. Mine adopted me when my mum brought her home. I was about. 11. I'm 64 now and she is still the best dog I've ever known. I miss her so much. Kids + Boxer dog = perfect xxx
Sure it's cute but not good for the toddler to be pushing and laying all over the dog. I've watched stuff like this happen before. Say the dog got a sore or a little cut that no one knew about. Then this kid is pushing and laying all over him. If kid comes into contact with cut or sore it could anger dog, dog could snap at child which is totally natural and then parents say "dog is aggresive, we had to put him down." I cringed everytime the child pu on or layed on the dog.
That's an unbelievably dangerous thing to allow to happen. Dogs are not people.
guys, can we PLEASE use comment/reply APPROPRIATELY, I know that everyone doesn't do this but to the people who do PLEASE be respectful there are people in MIDDLE SCHOOL on bored panda that definitely do not need to see these comments and I dont think that other people would want to either. Thank you.
They are most likely bots rather than real people I'm afraid.
Load More Replies...I love this! I love boxers and have 2 of them. They are the best dogs ever, especially with kids. They really are very patient and protective.
I absolutely love boxers! My 'nephew' Cooper was so chill, loving & patient that my cockatiel Sweetie (who would never go to anyone other than myself) would climb onto his nose & sit atop his head and just chill. He was so freakin' cool & I miss him every day.
Load More Replies...I love how the Dog just doens't care. He is alert as soon as the kid steps out of his bed but once it's clear everything is okay he goes in to "Whatever" mode and lets the kid do what it wants. Such a good puppo

I always feel sorry for kids whose parents won’t have pets in the house—-they’re missing so many wonderful experiences, not to mention unlimited unconditional love and true devotion. When I was a toddler, we had a St Bernard named Heidi, who was a wonderful nanny dog to me—-and my favorite pillow for nap time. This was back in the early to mid 1960s, so Heidi went over the Rainbow Bridge long ago, but has been sorely missed ever since. Hope to be reunited with her—-and all my other beloved fur babies—-one day.
We weren't allowed to have pets indoors because my brother is deathly allergic.

So cute, so many people see this like a Disney Cartoon. Funny that a video is posted on this site that shows the downside ... https://www.boredpanda.com/6-year-old-boy-saves-little-sister-from-dog-attack. Why promote this ?
I'll never understand how you can see the special and deeply personal relationships that you have with domesticated animals and dogs in chief only to catch them by the hundreds and cook them (often while still alive because they can't even dispatch them correctly and humanely first or simply don't care) and eat the poor pups and cats... :'(
... So... just like westerners do to pigs? FYI pigs are more intelligent than dogs are. Something something motes and beams and eyes.
Load More Replies...This is very sweet, but dogs can hurt kids, and kids can hurt dogs. Especially in the dark, unintentionally, when both are tired. Please, please don't let toddlers and dogs sleep together.
If Brutus was, say, a Yorkie or other small and delicate-boned breed, I’d agree with you. But he looks to be a pretty sturdy-built Boxer, so can withstand a 25 or 30 lb toddler trying to crawl into bed with him. If he couldn’t, we’d be seeing him yelp, move away, and generally avoid the kid in the video, instead of sleeping through it.
