I Turn 1000s Of Bullet Shells Into Animal Trophies Without Killing A Single Soul
I’m Federico, a Colombian artist currently living in Miami. This is my new series called “We’re at peace”. This series consists in freestanding sculptures and bas-relief paintings entirely composed of bullet shells that play with the juxtaposition between whimsical subject matter, animals or landscapes that are full of life, and a historically emblematic and lethal medium.
Once again and as a recurrent intention in my work, I encourage the viewer to discover, beyond the sole function of an object, an underlying symbolic and aesthetic reality where life overcomes death and beauty, supplants destruction.

Share on FacebookThe artist's take on beating one's swords into plowshares. Incredible creativity. This takes genius that is lacking in those that just go out and kill things with the same medium that makes up these awesome works.
I just started learning about you and your pieces and really enjoy it! Love this idea, taking something and putting it into peaceful, beautiful perspective.
I think a dove would be a good idea, seeing as they represent peace.
This artist talent is amazing. Brilliant way to use these items that kill. The very things that the medium used to kill the subject. Such irony. Brilliant. Can one purchase these? Are they only for the galleries and museums?
Fascinating medium you're using, Frederico Uribe! Gorgeous creations. But I wouldn't want to be anywhere near them during a fire!! LOL
Obviously great skill here but you make the huge mistake of reinforcing the idea of animal trophies. That is hypocritical. You need to make things that don't make us think of hunting and put dead bodies on display.
