Bridesmaid Steals Bride’s Spotlight At Her Wedding, Gets A Taste Of Revenge When She’s The One Getting Married
Family members and friends are supposed to love and support each other unconditionally. Especially on special days like weddings. Sometimes, however, drama seems to get the better of everyone. That’s how long-lasting feuds start. Sometimes spanning a year or even longer.
Reddit user Yazdon posted an intriguing tale of two ruined weddings, which involves betrayal, plotting, conspiracies, pregnancy, and a grand dose of good humor. Sounds like the story from an A-list detective mystery novel. Only what happened is completely real, not just based on true facts. And it just goes to show that the old adage that ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’ is still true to this very day.

Yazdon was at her cousin’s wedding last summer where he got married to a woman called ‘Emma’ (that’s not her real name). However, ‘tragedy’ struck when one of the bridesmaids, named ‘Sarah’, ruined the wedding by announcing her engagement at the party, right after the ceremony. Emma didn’t rage. She didn’t scream or pounce on Sarah. She waited. She bided her time.
Luckily for Emma, Sarah named her maid of honor for her own wedding, and a series of unfortunately hilarious events were set into motion. And when Emma got pregnant, she knew she had the perfect circumstances for revenge. What did Emma do? Well, she revealed that she’s 5 months pregnant at the wedding. Emma was then thrown out, but victory was hers. Touchdown, goal, home run, and other sportsball words don’t do Emma’s vengeance justice. Now, it wasn’t a nice thing to do, but revenge is never nice, is it?
Besides getting engaged and declaring you’re pregnant, what are other faux pas at weddings? Cosmopolitan suggests that you shouldn’t wear white clothes because that’s the bride’s color, and you should watch how much you drink, so you don’t embarrass yourself. Especially if you’re giving a speech. Even though we’re living in the age of mass communication, be sure to turn your phone off, so you won’t be tempted to scroll on social media during the ceremony. Letting your friends know you’re at a wedding can wait until, well, after the wedding.
Cosmopolitan also explains that no matter what you think of marriage as an institution, you shouldn’t express any negative views about weddings during the event. Nor should you complain about the food not meeting your very strict dietary guidelines, if you forgot to include that information in your RSVP. After all, it’s somebody’s special day, and nobody wants to hear any complaints. Otherwise, some revenge might be in order.
People thought that this story had no heroes, only villains
Reddit user Yazdon talked to Bored Panda about the two ruined weddings: “I’m not entirely certain whether Sarah is still on speaking terms with any of the bridesmaids who supported Emma’s actions. However, I do know that Emma herself cut contact with Sarah until rather recently.”
“I couldn’t have imagined Emma getting back at Sarah the way she did, so I guess anything’s possible at this point,” said Yazdon about the possibility of Sarah wanting revenge for what Emma did. “I don’t think Emma would give her any opportunity for sabotage, though. Sarah’s the one trying to be ‘friends’ with Emma again.”
“Personally I find the whole situation is incredibly petty. Had Sarah, Emma, and their friends been genuine with one another from the start and communicated their grievances as opposed to slyly ‘getting back’ at each other, none of this would’ve happened. But at the end of the day what’s done is done, and it certainly makes for a wild story. I don’t think Emma did the right thing. It was out-of-character for her to orchestrate something so malicious rather than confront the offender directly. I’ll admit her execution was very funny, though. If I were in Emma’s position I probably would have just asked Sarah to leave my wedding reception, based on the way she behaved that night.”
Yazdon also had some thoughts about revenge in general: “I don’t think forgiveness _or_ revenge is necessarily the best way to go, depending on the situation. Some actions are just plain unforgivable. This doesn’t mean that you should act in retaliation, it just means that you should hold the perpetrator accountable. The line between forgivable and unforgivable actions varies from person to person, though. Personally, I try to forgive anyone who acknowledges their wrongdoings and expresses remorse for what they have done.”
“If there’s one thing I hope readers can take away from this situation, it’s to always be authentic. Don’t let your feelings of anger and resentment build up and manifest themselves in covert badmouthing and scheming. Be real with your friends, and in turn, your friends will be real with you,” Yazdon advised.
Makes me realize how lucky I am to have real friends and none of this petty nonsense in my life
Oh god, the narcissism. Why do people think anyone gives a c**p about whether they procreate or get married? Just do it and shut up about it.
I'm just speculating, but I don't think Arno was commenting on the BP post. I think he was commenting on making such a huge deal over announcing a wedding or pregnancy. I think people do give a c**p, but I think making it such a hug announcement is just ridiculous. My older sisters in the 70s and 80s just walked into the house and would say, "Hey guess what? I'm pregnant." And my Mom would smile and say congrats and that was that. Seemed sufficient.
Load More Replies...I love how people think people should get away with being a******s. Do you think there should be no repercussions for the wrongs people have done?
Load More Replies...Somehow you think the person getting back at someone for being a jerk is equally as bad. I think the lesson here is don't be jerks in the first place and you won't have to worry about people being jerks to you. If we lived by your rules there would be no repercussions for doing wrong things.
Load More Replies...I honestly do not know why people like this get air time on sites like these. The world is petty enough and watching the news doesn't help without having these stories around as well. Why do you not give more space to the stories like you have in the side of the page which are so much nicer than two warring cousins trying to play one up manship with each other?
Same here. I don't get why people think the Sarah should get away with being a jerk without repercussions.
Load More Replies...Who the hell actually cares? If someone announced they were going to get married at my wedding I wouldn't care less. The room would cheer for like two minutes tops. If someone announced they were going to have a kid at my wedding I wouldn't care, crowd would once again cheer for all of two seconds before going back to their bad dancing and drinking.
Exactly what I commented. I don't understand what is the issue here. Is there a written rule like "Do not announce anything in a wedding party because it will be ruin"? Non sense.
Load More Replies...Depends on your definition of "friends". My friends I inherently trust (and likewise) and would never do anything like this. Thus I have a few friends. Other people count acquaintances as friends and thus things like this can happen.
Load More Replies...I'm at a loss. On one hand, people - especially Americans - are so fixated on weddings, with everything planned years in advance, all that engagement ring having to be super expensive b******t and - oh my God - the amount of money they are willing to spend on a one day event! (Like... why does it have to be so expensive? My wedding was the best day and best party of my life and it cost us under 800 USD!) On the other hand, all these stories and dramas how somebody ruined, or trolled somebody's wedding, how they in turn took revenge on their wedding... F*****g hell, people. It just makes me mad. Also, it is wrong to glorify revenge. It's an animalistic urge which should not be catered to. Like, let's watch Kill Bill to get those nice feelings but don't be actually vengeful, guys. Stop talking to your a*****e friends, no need to hurt and punish them, ffs.
They are both as bad as each other, two wrongs don't make a right. They need to grow up the pair of them.
I agree they are both a******s. But what really suprises me is: why shall someone shall force friends and bridesmaids to spend big sums for another person's big event. If you are obsessed to have the perfect wedding you should be the one buying the bridesmaids dresses or you shall be fine of whatever they can afford.
I am not a naturally vengeful person and I rarely approve. However, unlike most people I do approve in this case. Because that Sarah showed a very thoughtless narcissistic thing to do. This proved it was not easy for her to put herself in other people's shoes. Sometimes they have the feel the pain themselves before they finally get it. I used to wreck my sister's stuff when I got mad. One day, my Mom tore up something of mine, very quietly, then said, that's how you make your sister feel. She was not abusive. She did exactly the right thing. I never, ever forgot that lesson.
I also approved of this one. I don't care if we're friends, unless you got my approval prior to what you wanna do (whether it's a proposal, engagement/pregnancy announcement or "coming out"), I'll give you a taste of your own medicine. You can't just use someone's special day and make it your own. It's wrong and I will not be there for it. There's also another scenario that annoys the hell out me whenever I see videos online. Men proposing to their S.O the day of their graduation. NO NO and NO Let them have the spotlight. You can propose later on at the celebration party/get together. Stop making it about you! They worked hard to get to this point. And having you taking it away is a major douche move.
Load More Replies...This was stupid....if this is true, this Emma lady needs to seriously consider her priorities. What was the point?
Im here for the drama. I been a bridesmaids and sometimes it give lot of stress for an event that last one day.
My mom did the gender reveal for my second brother on my 9th birthday at my request, she put oversized white shirts on me and my first brother, filled nerf guns with blue paint (blue for "boy") and my brother and I sprayed paint at each other XD We still have the shirts.
After my wedding, a distant relative posted pictures of my wedding BEFORE I could post the official ones! And didn't even ask if he could. Somehow I was too happy/busy to raise a stink about it

To me, there is no winners here, only losers. Everyone in this situation sounds incredibly childish and petty and I wouldn't want to be friends with any of them. You don't disrupt someone else's wedding to announce your personal Joy's. You do that at a more appropriate time later.
The further I read the faker it sounds. I mean she was five months pregnant and no one noticed?
Only what happened is completely real, not just based on true facts. Moron
It's pathetic to see what friends are truly like, i had one that was capable of something nasty, she claimed we were friends, she didn't know the meaning of the word !!!
And this is why I'm glad I never had the big elaborate wedding. Who gives a f*** who does what at your wedding and why? People need to grow up and stop being so petty.
The comments here lead me to conclude that a lot of you lead very sheltered lives. Ignorant, naive, and lacking in any substantial amount of life experience with other people in general.
This is awesome. Yes petty, childish and ridiculous. But awesome none the less. You ruin my wedding I'll be damn sure to ruin yours. awesome. Well done.
What goes around comes around, if you want friends you need to be a friend and not hijack other peoples marriage.
omg so part of me agrees with everyone, they need to grow up, its so immature etc. but honestly guys? that was pretty fun to read... like i love revenge stories no matter how petty, especially cuz this is probably fake.
If this is true (because it's on the internet doesn't make it true), then Emma has a bigger problem than Sarah. It sounds to me that Sarah is a huge narcissistic person and her action is not perse her fault. I do not justify her actions, because it's a horrible thing to do, but it seems to me she is just a, as I said before, a huge narcissistic person. Emma, on the other hand, plans this all out to take her revenge on her. Not saying she got pregnant to get back on her but to a very happy and important happening just to get back on her is seriously f*ck up. Act like a grown-up, talk to her and eventually break any connexion with her. Don't get on her level. So IMO their both losers.
‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’? B******t more like nothing more vindictive and petty than a b***h out for revenge.
This whole thing just sounds so odd. The first wedding apparently was not about a celebration of love, but one of formalities. Just like the second one. Announcing an engagement at a wedding just sounds odd. But so sounds making any fuss about it; ALL attendees should have just moved on a minute later. Announcing pregnancy at a wedding, again, where is the big deal? Move on, nothing to see there. And then, throwing someone from a wedding? Seriously? People should merely try to celebrate with family and friends but to seek for perfection. Perfection comes when you do not try to enforce it!
