I Encourage Mothers Not To Hide Breastfeeding With My Inspiring Photographs

I am an owner and photographer at “Alicia In Wonderland Photography”, currently launching a series of fine art portraits showcasing motherhood, focusing on the bond between mother and child, with an emphasis on breastfeeding. Known as “Fine Art of Motherhood,” the series was inspired by the depiction of mothers in classical artwork in museums.

Breastfeeding is such a wonderful gift, and sadly, there is so much controversy over it in our society. Breastfeeding is often difficult, and should be celebrated as a beautiful accomplishment, not something to hide. I want people to see that breastfeeding is about the mother and child, not about any exposed skin. I make a strong effort to portray that in my photos.

A recent client who participated in the series wrote: “Alicia made us feel so comfortable. She is also a breastfeeding mother, so she really understands the breastfeeding relationship between mother and child. She also understands that little ones don’t always follow instruction, but she was able to capture some of the most amazing photos in those off moments.”

I hope the photos will inspire mothers to start or continue their own breastfeeding journey, and help demystify the art of breastfeeding for those who are not breastfeeding mothers.
