Boyfriend Leaves His GF In A Gas Station By Accident, She Keeps Asking People To Use Their Phones Until Cops Show Up
A couple’s first trip is one of those things that can determine whether or not they have a (bright) future. Because at the end of the day, dealing with unexpected problems is pretty much what relationships are all about. So when Lex, 25, was about to embark upon a road trip with her new boyfriend, she couldn’t be more excited.
“We were dating for about 3 months then,” Lex told Bored Panda. “We travel often so a road trip early on in the relationship wasn’t a big deal for us.” However, that was before he accidentally abandoned her at a gas station in the middle of nowhere.
The tiny hiccup aside, the two of them had an awesome trip
“Something like this has never happened to me before or since then,” Lex added. “After that, the trip was amazing. We had great scenery all along the way, camped on beautiful beaches every night in Mexico (we drove down the Baja Peninsula and looped back around), went on great hikes, went diving, ate great food and met some really cool locals.”
Here’s what people said about the whole thing
I'm not tryna be sad but it sounds like the store person was a little bit racist.
Thought the same thing tbh. I saw her and though “Oh now I get why no one gave her the phone and the cops were called” that’s just so sad.

I said to my husband and MIL we should offer, we have our minivan. MIL from NY said are you nuts? Why would you do that? That seriously was her reaction, let other people work out their problems. Didn't seem too neighborly to me so I walked over and asked her if she'd like us to take it and follow her home. She was hesitant but also said she was new in town and had no other option. I'm sure she was thinking we might steal her table. Followed her home, was a bit further than expected, MIL fussing that I'm crazy the entire trip. Made it to her apartment, she as so relieved. She said she was starting her job as an OBGYN the next day and what a nice surprise to find people are so nice in OH. I don't understand why humans aren't nicer to one another. And I have also let strangers use my phone, what's the big deal?
Because the majority of humanity is garbage. Just look at our president. He's a reflection of half the country and that's scary as hell.

And my husband was threatened with violence and death when he dared walked into a McDonald's in a black neighborhood. He ended up leaving without his food because even the staff wouldn't intervene. Of course that didn't make the news because black people can't be racist and it's totally acceptable for them to treat other people that way for some reason.

I have a list of states to avoid at all cost. Arizona is #1 on that list. I will never set foot in that state unless forced and/or made to do so involuntarily. It's just not safe for me due to my melanin rich skin.

He didn't WANT to help her, when he easily could have. What an A-hole. The other people too, who felt "uncomfortable" when she asked them for help. There's something fundamentally wrong and sick with a society, if it's a common reaction to assume the worst because someone is non-white. And yes, right, I can't be sure it's about race. But if it's not, it's STILL effing wrong to not help a person in distress! No matter race or gender, age, size, clothing, looks etc.
That one person who can't believe someone goes to the toilet without a phone... do they even know there was a time smartphones didn't exist? Unbelievable.
They were being sarcastic haha. Though I understand sarcasm can be hard to translate through text

I have managed a gas station, on the edge of a small town in a rural Ohio county. If that Customer was at my store, I would have asked what vehicle the boyfriend was driving, contacted the local sheriff's department, and asked them if they were able to track down the boyfriend before he drove too far away.
Reminds me of when I heard a waitress yell "WHAT THE F - - -!" Looked over and saw her at a big messy table by a high chair with a sleeping baby in it. A big family took off without the baby, but came back when they went to strap the baby in its seat and there was no baby to be found.
This type of story baffles me, yet it is fairly common. How the he!! does anyone forget their kid?!

This is a weird side effect of cell phones. I've had a very similar situation happen to me, and was in tears and probably looked a little crazy while looking for a phone to use. Another related problem is that no one knows phone numbers anymore, so you may still be SOL even if you find a phone! But seriously I can't blame people for being freaked out if I put myself in their shoes!
I don't answer my own phone when a bunch of random unsaved numbers call let alone someone else's.
