Internet personality Sierra Schultzzie is all about being confident and kind to your body. And one of her recent projects perfectly proves it. Sierra has been recreating iconic celebrity photos, but in a way that didn't overpower her own personality.
"I'm not trying to look like these celebrities," she said in her YouTube video. "I'm just recreating the pose, the outfit, the photoshoot. It's just gonna be me, Sierra, in a way I naturally am."
To achieve better results, Sierra teamed up with a team of professionals, including videographer @rubensamuelcortez, photographer @tonymoux, and producer @sky.p_. From Marilyn Monroe to Britney Spears, they paid homage to quite a few wonderful women and had a blast doing it as well!

Britney Spears
Tony Moux, a photographer who worked on the series, was really happy to be a part of it. To him, this was more than reverse engineering the images. "I'm deeply inspired to work on projects and with people like Sierra," he told Bored Panda. "She has created a positive awareness of the beauty industry. What we find beautiful has had a narrow vision in the past. These photoshoots are just one way of widening that vision."
Victoria's Secret
"Personally, these shoots have helped me realize how many layers go into a shoot. With set design, costume, make up and retouching, it's no wonder we feel that we can attain such beauty. I promise, it's all smoke and mirrors," he said.
Zendaya
Tony has always had a preconceived notion of YouTubers and influencers. However, working with Sierra has changed his mind. "The notion that they make random content and rarely work [is] not true at all," he explained. "At least in the case of Sierra. She works her butt off, nonstop. Every challenge she takes on requires a massive amount of courage."
These photoshoots are much more about self promotion than any body issue. It’s become tiresome.
Agreed, and these "body Positive" chicks live in an echo chamber.
Well than she did a shit job of promoting herself. All I know about her is she took some cool pictures that made me rethink the restrictions I place on myself because of my size. I don't know her name, what she does for a living or anything else.
"Restrictions I place on myself" - here, "I am overweight so I cannot wear/do X because I will look silly" - are known as "self-control". It is what makes you an adult.
Yep. The fatties are just as vain as the thin models. Sigh.

Mid sized???? No, absolutely not. Ariana is unhealthy (she couldn't even lift a child, but the child could lift her in a video I saw). But this model is not mid sized, period. I'm sorry.
Promoting obesity as a positive body image is scary..would we applaud a guy with dad bod doing mash ups of the rock or Zac effron? No we'd say he is one Hamburg shy of a heartattack
I think it's not about "promoting obesity", but rather "we're humans too, stop being jerks towards us, let us have some fun".
If you live in a country were half the medical attention is collapsed by obese people, excuse us if we do mind. My 5yo daughter almost died this week because she couldn't breath, and every oxygen mask at the hospital was occupied by obese people.
What causes a negative reaction isn't that people are fat, but that they are absurd - pretending to be glamorous. Your grandmother is not a sexy model, either - but she isn't ridiculed bedause she has the good sense not to pretend to be.
I think that obesity comes from promoting over-slimmed silhouettes. Still, most celebrities are pretty skinny, and they have support from dieticians, trainers, etc. It is very challenging to stay slim when you are not rich with limited free time. Also, a lot of obese people are in the vicious circle of diets, and they shame themselves which doesn't do any good. So let's promote healthy lifestyle, and don't shame people who have problems with their weight.
So why doesnt most of asia or europe have the same obesity problems as america.shit in asia in some countries the fattest pl in the count ry are the size of what americans consider average 😆
becouse they don't have as many toxic convenient foods as wee do. we eaven take our fresh vegetables and make them toxic by dumping pesticides on them. our bodies aren't made to handle all the toxins in our food and household products so our organs take a toll and don't work as they should = trouble maintaining a healthy weight because we are unhealthy
Pesticides don't make you fat. Wheat does.
Well said :)
I would applaud it - I love big teddy bear guys. This lady isn't obese so I'm not sure what you're talking about.
unfortunately, she is absolutely obese. I'm pretty sure she and I are the same size. At 35, my knees hurt, so do my hips, and it hurts to run. Been fighting it and "yo-yoing" all my life. However, I must also agree that I LOVE big teddy bears. Incidentally, I also love myself, and I'm glad she loves herself as well. It's about feeling healthy. Media pushing anorexia or obesity doesn't change what people already deeply know. What their own bodies are telling them every day.
She’s definitely obese. Not morbidly, but still quite obese.
Sierra is a size 14/16 - the average size of a woman in the US is a 16/18. Sierra is showing that beauty doesn't need to be the anorexic images we have been fed for decades. She succeeds there!
That shows most u.s women are put of shape. In europe that is no where clise to the aversge snd in asia lol if u go to the eastern half of asia u got entire countries where the average women is beliw suze 4. I live how americans think being a fat ass is normal .
American food has the highest toxicity rate in the world, eaven healthy food like fresh veggies are covered in pesticides. household products are also VERY toxic, not to mention 3 & 4 G nexworking interfering with our eletrical balance. our bodies are bonbarded with poison from the time of conception. this causes damage to our organs and normal functions, like how we process food, and shut down. we then store toxins that our body doesn't know what to do with whithin our fat cells. it is very hard to be thin in America because of all the damage to our bodies
She’s not obese, she’s a size 12 to 14, the average size of american women. She works out regularly, according to her Youtube channel. She’s healthy and she’s not promoting obesity (absurd idea : so anybody over a size 12 showing his body in public would be « promoting obesity », that’s ridiculous - without saying that she says « love yourself » no matter your size, thin or curvy, she’s not saying « hey guys gain weight to look like me! » ), she’s living her life and is having fun recreating photoshoots.
By clinical standards she is obese. Societal standards might disagree, but any doctor would call her obese.
If she indeed worked out, she wouldn't have those arms and torso. Every obese person thinks they can say they do weight lift and people will believe them, but body changes shapes with exercise even if you don't loose weight, and she has a sit down for too many hours per day kind of frame.

I don't think we should promote obesity. However I don't think anybody but her doctor should be the judge on wether she is healthy or not. But the main point of this article is to get people to stop having the kind of "ew gross" reaction to average looking women because people's brains have been brainwashed with size 2 propaganda.
"However I don't think anybody but her doctor should be the judge on wether she is healthy or not." You don't need to be a doctor to see bad cases of obesity. You must be sighted. "But the main point of this article is to get people to stop having the kind of "ew gross" reaction to average looking women" It's more like "Such a pitty that she would die young", not "ew gross".

St John, did you know that it is unhelthier to be too thin than too big? Woman who weigh too little have problems getting pregnant or even stop having their periods.
How many too thin people vs overweight people do you think there are?? Both are bad but one is a much more severe problem that affects all genders and all ages.

Only if you count really sick people. This woman here is not sick. She looks healthy and happy. She looks more like a normal woman then every model out there. How many depressiv people are there? I think that number is even larger than obesity. And why are some of them depressive? Because the media suggests that they are not perfect if they don't look a certain way. I would rather be a bit bigger and happy like this woman, than thin and ready to kill myself, thank you very much.
