But actually this is a technique I used in customer service. For example when you put a customer on hold to go get more info, you ask them if they’re happy to wait. When you get back you thank them for waiting. If you say “sorry for the wait” it suggests you did something wrong, when really you were just doing your job. It leaves a different impression on the customer and genuinely impacts satisfaction.

People need to stop with the photos of strangers. We had a transit clerk who worked the ticket booth in Toronto die due to the stress brought on by this. He closed his eyes while sitting in the booth, someone took his photo and posted it. Then sent it to his boss. It went viral and was everywhere, all over the news. This middle aged man who had worked for 30 years with the TTC had to leave work. The stress caused him to become sick and he died. You may think it is funny to post pics of strangers to get likes and views but there are real people behind those moments.

I am always super polite to counter service workers because I have been there. I am shocked at how many of them remark at how nice I am because they are abused so often.

I live in a basement apt with my elderly Greek landlords upstairs. Beautiful apt and well kept home. These people care, are religious and courteous. The virus has shown me their true colours. As I am leaving Friday I bump into them and she tells me they are attending a Sunday wedding. Now the wife is coughing away and is clearly sick with something. I tell her my brother in laws father has just passed away from Covid at his nursing home and maybe she should be careful and not go to the wedding. Her response. Covid is fake. It is now Sunday and they are having about 30 people over from the wedding upstairs. This has been going on since the beginning with numerous BBQ's and get together. I cannot wait to find another job so I can move away from these crazy people.
