People Think That This 2-Bedroom, $1.5M Apartment In London With An Indoor Pool Is An Architectural Disaster
London is notoriously expensive. From housing to food, nothing comes cheap in this buzzing metropolis. In addition to this, London is always full of surprises—take this $1.5M flat with its own private pool as an example. But things are not always as they seem and not everything that glitters is gold, as reveals this listing that got slammed on the internet for its “deeply chaotic energy.”

“One of a kind!” the listing for the fancy apartment announces. “Luxury two double bedroom flat with private swimming pool! The basement of the split level apartment comprises luxury private swimming pool, sauna, shower, seating area with folding glass doors, kitchenette, and w/c,” the description reads.
And a really bizarre layout, as well

A luxury private swimming pool? A sauna? Folding glass doors? You may already want to call your bank for a loan, but hold your horses, because as we mentioned before, things are not as they seem. Upon further inspection of the photos of the listing, they reveal the catch—the pool is sitting right there in the middle of the apartment. What better way to start the day than to fill your lungs with a fresh breath of chlorine, right?
There are 3 fridges

But wait, there’s more! “After climbing the spiral staircase you arrive at a good-sized open plan reception room with kitchen, two double bedrooms, walk-in wardrobe, bathroom with shower overhead, and small patio,” the listing reads. “The property is immaculate throughout and truly is one of a kind!” The uniqueness of the apartment truly shows, especially in this seating room from which you can peek at the pool below your feet.

Originally, the apartment was listed for a mere £1,000,000, but once the photos started circulating on social media, the price was bumped up to £1.2M (approximately $1.5M). Talk about business savvy! But somehow, people on the internet aren’t that enthusiastic about the apartment. In fact, when one person shared the listing on Twitter, they wrote that they need “to know the lunatic who built this and the story behind it.”
Originally, the suite was listed for £1M

But after the photos made rounds on social media, the price was bumped to £1.2M (around $1.5M)

All jokes aside, people on Twitter had some serious questions about the 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 2-reception rooms suite. “Why does the basement itself have THREE levels?” one person wonders. “Single beds? three fridges? doesn’t look lived-in at all? what’s going on here?” another one inquires. But it seems that at this point, there are more questions than answers.

Share on Facebooki wish there was a layout rendering, i just can't quite picture it.
I don't see any in the apartment, and the pool has been there for YEARS. Proper ventilation has probably taken care of that. They did a good job building the silly thing. ...////.... As to the chlorine smell...there probably isn't any. Most people have only been to public pools that have to be heavily chlorinated because people pee in the pool. We've had a private pool, and you don't smell the chlorine at all - because there isn't any to speak of.
Load More Replies...Fun fact: The "chlorine smell" from a swimming pool is not actually chlorine. It's chloramine, which is produced when chlorine reacts incompletely with nitrogen compounds from the human body. A properly managed private pool will not smell like a public pool.
Dude, $1,500,000 dollars are $34,500,000 pesos, I could buy a CASTLE with that much money X3
Sure... in the middle of nowhere. Real estate price in central London is like $1500 per square ft.
Load More Replies...Reminds me of something I saw on Grand Designs. Some people are just too stupidly rich.
Are you referring to the episode where people had the pool (for their handicapped son) in the middle of their living room and designed all other spaces around it ? As I type this, I realize it sounds less of a design fail than it actually was.
Load More Replies...If that was someone else’s pool, especially, I would lay on that glass panel butt naked every single day to drive them nuts 🥜. It would be my favorite spot to hang.
I saw this for rent also. It looked like some weird porn studio, so I decided to to rent it. Super seedy!
Typically Americans criticizing the UK, when they have no idea what it is really like or for.
Doesn't matter what the price is: will anyone buy it? Once the price creeps above £800k, there are lots of options in London. Over a million, this is a loser.
Oh, this is actually considered a nice flat in London. All flats here are terrible
for this amount, I have one a substantial house with a big outside pool in one 4000M2 garden around with palm trees on a tropical island, of course , I am not a London snob
This is the ugliest and one of the most ridiculous flats I have ever seen and a ridiculous price. Everyone wants a glass door to their bedroom
Also kitchen looks like they bought all the appliances from sale. They aren't hidden behind cabinet doors and don't even match each other.
This appears to not be occupied as the appliances still have the labels on them.
I was all set to snap it up until I saw how small the pool was. Plus weekend jaunts to London are such a hassle now days.
I really like the idea of the pool, however impractical. Aside from that, I don't find anything else about it that I like!
