We're all guilty of lying from time to time for our own personal gain. And of course, no one's here to judge you, after all, it's a dog eat dog world so everyone deserves to do a little something to help themselves. But when you think about it, how do you separate an innocent white lie and legit nasty lie? Well, this series of tweets about people lying for personal gain will show you how far people will go in order to get what they want, and honestly, you can't really blame them, some even managed to get married to the love of their life just by fudging the truth a bit.

Haha hilariously smart. I'm surprised they didn't notice, I mean, even I know all my friends' handwriting, I awfully hope the teachers would

Not sure of this. I mean, every teacher knows their students handwriting.

She turned it into the office, and the likelihood of the staff seeing her handwriting was pretty slim. It was also unlikely that her teachers would compare her handwriting with the note supposedly from her father in the office.

Be Prepared. Bet no Eagle Scout ever had such foresight. I had a kid send me a card using my address as the return address and his own as the address card was to be sent. It was "returned to sender" (me) for postage, resulting in me getting his card postage free.

I just taught my daughter my signature. I would never coach my son on how to do it and he has no idea. He is younger and just thinks his sissy can sign his work too (when I forget to do it. Often. )

Omg! When I got married, my hubby told be he was bad at budgeting and asked me to handle the finances. I signed his name on everything and didn't think of there ever being a problem. One time, I was sick for while, so I sent him to pay bills and get groceries with the credit card. His bank flagged his account and called him to verify the fraud. For a purchase HE made. With HIS card. That he signed HIS name on. Haha!

I am the youngest of 5 siblings. I was informed by the other 4 sibs that I needed to copy every note so there would be no authentic parental writing on file. For some reason, the school never thought to compare the notes on file between individual siblings.

What about homework assignments? Did she have to alter her handwriting so it wouldn't look like her "dad's"?

I could forge my mother's handwriting so perfectly in high school that even when the suspicious secretary would compare a note I'd written to a Mom original, she couldn't spot a difference. My own handwriting was generally similar but by no means identical, so I got away with it. It was a really useful shill!

Not good. I know too well what students are capable of and they cannot make mature decisions all the time.

We joined a church in order to be on the board of our children’s school. We left the church after we didn’t want to be on the board any longer. It was obvious, but we got what we wanted out of it. Ashamed? Not particularly.

Hopefully my son never ends up being this clever. That's pure genius.

I did something similar. In my country we had a notebook with news and communications for tha families. I never showed my mum my notebook during all second grade, so she had no idea it existed and i signed every communication myself.

I signed myself into highschool, they never had my Mums signature on file. I did every note for four years, even the real ones 😋

Wow... Keeping this anti-forgery record would be unlawful in Europe (under GDPR).

So lying and faking is the way to grow up and become an adult? What is this world coming to?

My dad used to do this on nature walks. Found out years later that the 'lesser spotted throat warbler' was a thrush.

That reminds me of this 6 year old kid in our neighborhood. He saw a banana and said he didn't know what it was, so we let him eat one. It turned out he didn't know what any fruit was so we were always giving him some. We thought we were doing him a huge favor. Got talking to his mom one day who laughed and said he would say anything to get food and he was familiar with all kinds of fruit! We were so taken for a ride!

How could you invent Jewish holidays? I mean, there's a calendar. You had a Jewish professor? College staff are really that stupid?

There is a similar post to this in this BP article that was posted by a man; it has positive comments on it.
