We're all guilty of lying from time to time for our own personal gain. And of course, no one's here to judge you, after all, it's a dog eat dog world so everyone deserves to do a little something to help themselves. But when you think about it, how do you separate an innocent white lie and legit nasty lie? Well, this series of tweets about people lying for personal gain will show you how far people will go in order to get what they want, and honestly, you can't really blame them, some even managed to get married to the love of their life just by fudging the truth a bit.

My dad used to do this on nature walks. Found out years later that the 'lesser spotted throat warbler' was a thrush.

That reminds me of this 6 year old kid in our neighborhood. He saw a banana and said he didn't know what it was, so we let him eat one. It turned out he didn't know what any fruit was so we were always giving him some. We thought we were doing him a huge favor. Got talking to his mom one day who laughed and said he would say anything to get food and he was familiar with all kinds of fruit! We were so taken for a ride!

How could you invent Jewish holidays? I mean, there's a calendar. You had a Jewish professor? College staff are really that stupid?

There is a similar post to this in this BP article that was posted by a man; it has positive comments on it.

Yeah this kind of manipulation speaks volumes about you as a person. It doesn't matter that it all worked out in the end, it was a very s****y thing to do.

There are so many things wrong with this. Apparently her ex-boyfriend was desperate, or this wouldn't have work. I guess he's still desperate, since they've been married 12 years. Maybe they deserve each other.

This isn't that unusual. She basically sent him the message that unless he was serious about her and wanted to get married, she was going to look for someone who was interested. He could have decided that he was okay with losing her and not cared , but he obviously wanted to keep her.

Why would you want to be with a guy that only wants you when you are with someone else?

Yes she wanted her ex back, so she invented another guy. He didn't want her to date someone else.

She's got to have a hell of an ego to think that her dating someone is the same as saving their life, unless there's some other very important and specific context she neglected to include in the tweet...

She’s married to him. His life would probably be completely different if they weren’t. If he’s happy in life then that’s how you get to “saved,” which she was just kidding about anyway.
