We're all guilty of lying from time to time for our own personal gain. And of course, no one's here to judge you, after all, it's a dog eat dog world so everyone deserves to do a little something to help themselves. But when you think about it, how do you separate an innocent white lie and legit nasty lie? Well, this series of tweets about people lying for personal gain will show you how far people will go in order to get what they want, and honestly, you can't really blame them, some even managed to get married to the love of their life just by fudging the truth a bit.

That’s just messed up. Why not introduce the kid to other shows instead?

Why not say, “Barney went on vacation, and no one knows when he’s going to be back”? Barney’s still alive, but you don’t have to watch it, since there won’t be episodes on when he’s on “vacation.”

My husband told our daughter the Disney music she wanted to listen to wouldn't come in on my car radio.

Eventually they were going to get into the "Let's kill Barney" phase soon afterwards. So you brought it forward a bit sooner.

I told a Sunday school class full of five year olds Barney died so they would shut up about it.

I’m glad Barney wasn’t around until I was already too old to care. And I grew up in Dallas, TX where it was created in 1987. By the time it first aired in 1992, I was almost 15. At school, we just made fun of it’s existence. I’m glad I don't have younger siblings, otherwise we probably would have watched it.

I'm not sure how many times I told my son Chuck E. Cheeses was closed for maintenance, training the mouse, a "holiday", etc...

Reminded me of the hate song: "I hate you, you hate me, let's unite and kill Barney. With a knife to his back and a bullet to his head, let's have a party, Barney's dead."

My junior high and high school are in the RISD, which is partly in Richardson and partly in Dallas. And I lived in North Dallas, so I grew up near ground zero for Barney. By 1992, I was about to turn 15, and at my junior high there was a different song parody. It followed the same idea as the old lesbian playground song.... http://playgroundjungle.com/2009/12/i-love-you-you-love-me.html Except I think they still rhymed “me” with “family” sometimes in order to make it even more “Barney-esque”.

My dad used to do this on nature walks. Found out years later that the 'lesser spotted throat warbler' was a thrush.

That reminds me of this 6 year old kid in our neighborhood. He saw a banana and said he didn't know what it was, so we let him eat one. It turned out he didn't know what any fruit was so we were always giving him some. We thought we were doing him a huge favor. Got talking to his mom one day who laughed and said he would say anything to get food and he was familiar with all kinds of fruit! We were so taken for a ride!

How could you invent Jewish holidays? I mean, there's a calendar. You had a Jewish professor? College staff are really that stupid?

There is a similar post to this in this BP article that was posted by a man; it has positive comments on it.
