The Best Wedding Photos Of 2018 Show What Happens When You Pay For A Good Photographer
Wedding photography has evolved into a significant profession of its own over the years, encompassing a variety of styles and approaches to help document one of the most important days in a couple's life.
Naturally then, like any artistic profession, there is a place where your skills can be recognized and judged by your peers. Fearless Awards is a curated competition which unveils a carefully-chosen collection of top-class wedding pictures every two months (you can also find the best of 2017 here).
"Fearless Photographers was founded in 2010 when I was still a working wedding photographer. I am now retired from wedding photography so I can work full-time on the Fearless Photographers business. I founded Fearless to showcase the work of the best photographers specialized in weddings who made amazingly beautiful images that went beyond typical wedding ceremony photography. I wanted to compile collections of these wedding photos to show the world how unique and breathtaking couple photos could be," the creator of Fearless Photographers told Bored Panda.
These awards recognize only the very best wedding photos, only 2 out of every 100 submissions are chosen, so prepare to be truly inspired! "Right now, about 3,100 wedding photographers are listed on the site. Our "Fearless" community is very active in efforts to educate, inspire, and help each other."
Bored Panda has compiled a list of some of the most impressive, artistic and cute pictures of the year so far, images that perfectly capture the drama, emotion and pure joy of getting hitched. Scroll down below to check them out for yourself, and vote for your favorites too!

Am just tearful at the quality of emotion in this one image. I dont understand someone who doesnt get it .This is the moment you are giving your precious daughter away to another man. This is the most beautiful you will ever see her and it is the last day she will be your child and under your protection.
My dad has no right to "give me away", I never belonged to him. But I will always be his child and he will always protect me until the day he (or I) dies, married or not. And why don't they cry when they "give" their sons away? Are they less precious? Plus most people had partners before the one they marry, so they have been "given away" (several times) before. I understand crying at the ceremony, but that is for me still just a dress.
Load More Replies...I'm not going to argue "giving" someone away, and the "right" to do or not do. I see a dad, seeing his daughter, who is looking beautiful, and dad is overcome with emotion. That, in itself, is lovely.
Wow. . .the comments on this one really turned into a shitfest, didn't they? Just appreciate the photo and stop being so damn triggered and hyper-reactive.
The picture is lovely. The comments are not. Mothers AND fathers are overcome with joy and yes, a bit of sadness, when their children get married. Why? Because life is moving on, and their 'babies' aren't 'babies' anymore. It's a big moment, full of emotion. We don't need to add all that silly 'the father is giving his daughter to another man and she won't be under his protection anymore' nonsense. It can be an emotional, touching, sweet moment without all that.
Agree. Just enjoy it as it is without too much overthinking
Load More Replies...i think it kinda represents that she can't just walk back to childhood.
Load More Replies...oh my getting the goosebumps <3 the most emotional wedding picture I've seen in a while
This one made me tear up the second I looked at it. Amazing capture of pure emotion.
Absolutely gorgeous capture of the emotion of the day. Very beautifully done.
What no one said or has seen is the fact, that the door can´t be opened, when it´s shut. There is no doorknob on the daughters side. Maybe this is not at chance / coincidence. So, she CAN´T come back!!
He's thinking of the drinks bill he'll be presented with next day.
I just love it. A moment when everything is pouring out through picture and it become precious
Cant figure out the comments on here - for the last time. Giving the bride away is a ceremonial archaic thing. only used in a church wedding. It signifies the father passing the safekeeping of his daughter to another man. The person giving the bride away will walk down the aisle with them and place their hand into their husbands at the altar beginning of the vows. Hence "giving the bride away"
It is not archaic and not only used in a church wedding. It is a tradition that takes place at most weddings regardless of venue.
Load More Replies...it seems like he's setting her on fire, rather than putting it out... Just the way it should be! 😊💕
yes but also kinda cool that you can see the men and women but in 2 different rooms
For me.. those tears are product of that overwhelming feeling of love. When you love someone SO MUCH that it just fills you and you can't believe that this person, this beautiful, amazing person loves you back, you feel amazed by thinking how happy you are because s/he exists and how s/he can make you feel this way, and experience this profound and pure LOVE.
Oh this is going to be a wonderful marriage. Full of pranks ... and joy and laughter.
Its the "haldi" ceremony in Indian weddings. "Haldi" or turmeric powder is applied by the friends and family on bride before the wedding day. It helps improve skin complexion during the actual wedding.
Reminds me of a scene from a musical. I expect them to start dancing any moment.
This must have been Brian May's wedding (Bohemian Rhapsody)
This is great. It shows the sacrifice that a mother gives of here body, time, and energy even on her wedding day to her little one.
It is very easy to judge when you are not the one behind the camera. Wedding's are some of the most difficult moments to photograph well. There are so many factors - the bride, groom, guest and weather do not always cooperate. It is a very stressful job, you must have ability to see and capture the ordinary and spot the extraordinary and catch it in an instant. It really is a gift. Use of photo editing can enhance a ordinary photo and make it sublime. Expectations of what will be captured is very high and a great wedding photographer meets and exceeds those expectations with barely being noticed. I loved all of these photographs. Kudos to the photographer(s) who took them.
I love to try my hand at all types of photography, but would never want to be a wedding photographer the beautiful photos in this post will inspire me to up my game elsewhere, however
i feel like this was really just an ad for the photographer. it didn't appear that there were multiple photographers or maybe it's just multiple companies. It was effective. Definitely amazing work. Memories.
Amazing! After the big day all you have are the memories and photos. A great photographer will capture some of those moments that you missed as well.
Just be aware that this is not the standard, but the best of the best. You'd need to hire those people and they need to have a good day to get these results.
This post mostly shows a bunch of people more concerned with being able to look good online than anything to do with what a marriage ceremony is for. It's really discouraging.

How so? I’d love to know the reasoning behind that opinion. Is it cultural or personal or some other reason?
Load More Replies...I honestly did not find most of these really great. A lot of photo shop. The ones that spoke to me were the natural ones that showed the love the couple felt for each other
As a photographer I can assure you that almost all photos you see are photoshopped to hell, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's like how people complain about CGI in movies; you only complain when you notice it (i.e: when it's done poorly). When it's done poorly in reportage-style shooting it sticks out like a sore thumb.
