The Women's March was initially centered around Washington, however it soon became a record-breaking worldwide protest to promote gender equality, LGBTQ rights and to address racial inequities.

There were 408 marches reported in the U.S. and 168 in other countries. It is estimated that the march drew around 500,000 to D.C. alone, and 2.9 million people in U.S. Actually, there were so many people protesting, that stores were running out of poster board.

"The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women's rights are human rights," says their official website. The message was loud and clear as you can see from the signs below.
