I feel similarly though I probably wouldn't characterize it so strongly. I definitely get the feeling of "Oh, did they find that insulting? It wasn't supposed to be", "Are they still interested or was I talking too much?", and things like that.

I feel like I am not human. Everyone is acting like they know what and how to do it, but for me, it is absolutely meaningless. And it is not that I am not understanding what is happening and the reasoning behind it. It just looks meaningless. The worst is with singing, dancing and especially with the acting. I see creatures from Hommo Sapiens Sapiens, moving their vocal cords and creating vibrations among the molecules of the air, others are moving their carbon-based limbs, especially paying attention to the shakes of their exit of the digestive system, fueled by chemical reaction and trying to repeat relatively the same patterns. The third is with the acting, which is something like the lying to me. I understand it, I am observing it, but it is still meaningless.
I get so focused on my thing that I don't remember the world, including myself. Whatever thing I'm doing, that's all that exists.
Until the age of 19 (which is when I was diagnosed), I was somewhere convinced that everyone on the planet were telepathic - except me. I learned to handle it now and know that it isn’t telepathy - it’s social skill. That they don’t have to work for. Bastards.

OMFG, I used to actually have nightmares about this EXACT thing. I was in a family sitcom. And everyone else knew the lines, but no one had given them to me. I HATED those nightmares.

I just don't get how people don't find the things that make me really miserable, don't notice that they're basically wearing barbed wire (wool,) can stand the texture of okra, can tune out noise that drives me crazy, and can stand bright light and heat. I do feel a bit like an alien sometimes.
It's like being in a foreign country without knowing their language, customs or mores. I can ask people what they mean but the answers aren't helpful because I don't understand the answers.
You know what it's like to be the only sober person in a room full of drunk people? I feel like that all the time.
I personally feel like my brain is a computer. Emotions are like buggy apps that could make my brain overheat and SHUT DOWN. When I stop talking after my brain overheating it is like the long as fudge loading screen. My facial reconition is okay but my voice reconiton is crud. I can't pass as a human only an advanced AI.
No it's not. I don't. I don't think I have Aspergers, but I feel like there's a play going on with no script at all and everybody's pretending there is one, just improvizing along... Some are playing for so long that they say the same lines every day, and some try new lines every day, and some players are honest and walk around asking each other "What's going on ?" and respond whith "I have no f*****g clue, Dude !"... I'm the one who says "There IS no script ! Do whatever you feel like, it's ok !"

I do this with my daughter. I have successfully stopped 'dabbing' and 'flossing' in my house. I hope to progress to stopping her wearing inappropriate clothing when she is a teenager using the same techniques.

My sister's cat suddenly seemed to get fatter overnight. We thought it was doing the above until one day we found it fighting with another cat - which looked exactly like it, but thinner. Things went 'click' and we realized we had been feeding an impostor who kept chasing my sister's actual cat off when he tried to come home. Smartest thing I've ever seen an animal do.
