Sorry to spoil the fun, but is this really "High-End Food" as the title suggests? It looks to me like low-end food with high-end advertisment (done with low-end means).
True. Right now the title is "People Are Blown Away At The Way This Chinese Company Create High-End Food Ads Using Super Low-Budget Items" (it could change) so it could either mean the food is high-end or the ads are high-end (or both are high end).

Genius? This is exactly how the special effects in high-end movies were made 30 years ago. They are still used in advertisement, because practical f/x are usually a lot faster and cheaper than equally good CGI that require high-end computers and software and highly trained staff.
