I believe we all can agree that people are strange creatures. We do loads of random stuff without really thinking about it. Our society is built in such a way that we tend to normalize things or expect someone to act according to a typical pattern. However, when you really think about it, some patterns appear to be pretty odd and bizarre.

So, I got curious about what behavior our pandas think is considered to be normal but is actually weird. I was surprised to receive so many insightful answers! Scroll down to read them and don't forget to share your opinion with us!

This ons needs to be higher. Remember a while back in Milan the bankers went on strike and there was a panic but nothing terrible happened? And then the garbage cleaners/collectors went on strike and the city was a filthy mess. Essential workers need better wages because they are the people that make the world a better place.

It only seems normal because most people are indoctrinated from their infancy to believe such nonsense. It's normal if that is all you know. But come on, the idea that there were 2 people in some garden and a snake convinced a woman to eat a forbidden fruit and that results in the whole of humanity to be damned in some sort of way? Not to mention other ridiculous notions like a wordwide flood that killed everything except this one guy's family who happened to take samples of every species on a giant boat to repopulate the world? And somehow all the kangaroos ended up in Australia and nowhere else? Seriously, it's all complete nonsense.

Oh, and Genesis and Noah's ark stories mean that the world's population, including animals is completely based upon creating the current population based upon incest - and according to what we know about genetics, that is completely absurd and impossible because there is no diversity of DNA. If any of that actually happened, not a single species would last many generations due to genetic defects.

Most religions have turned into cults, and their are cult disguised as religions(scientology) but people should be able to believe what they want. But they should not be forced to participate in 'donating' or paying anything, and should feel comfortable enough to be able to practice in their own homes.

True faith is a beautiful thing to behold, but most religious people don’t have it. They’re just there to get anything they can out of religion. Going to church to make business or social connections, or just so you can make yourself think you’re superior to someone else because you “just know” you’re going to Heaven and the rest of us are going to burn in Hell (Hint: We’re not. Heaven and Hell are right here on Earth, and we’re all already in the middle of it.). Joining, or forming, a cult to coerce believers into turning all their assets over to the “religion”—-meaning you. Happens in the older religions too. What’s the net worth of The Vatican? I’m not saying religions haven’t ever done anything good for anybody. There are very selfless people in each of them who have done wonderful things for people who really needed it. But then there’s the rest—-most—-of them, who would rather blame and judge than help, then cherry-pick their particular book to justify themselves.

There are people of exceptional faith that are good, bad and everything in between. There are people with no spiritual faith whatsoever that are good, bad and everything in between. It’s not about the faith or the religion, it’s the quality of a person’s character.

God is just Santa clause for adults. "He sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake he knows when you've been good or bad so be good for goodness sake." God is also very much about ego - I'm so important god watches over me. I'm better than you because you don't believe what I believe. Or I'm going to heaven but you're going to hell. Even missionary work is all about believing your religion is so 'right' you need to force it on others. So happy I'm an atheist.

It is very odd. But I will keep my (agnostic) mind open since I live on a rock, revolving around a ball of gas, hurtling thru a void. And there's another rock revolving around this rock that somehow controls my lady parts. So for me, who knows? But formal "religion" appears to have been bastardized into a control mechanism. I think there is something there, but humans harness it to their benefit.

I was always that kid at school asking why over and over when bible stories were being read to the class and they never sat well with my, never once with any "explanation" anywhere near satisfactory. If some kid started claiming to be conversing with god there's a huge change that they'd be medicated and under psychiatric care than being praised as the messiah

Look at some of the other religions that you are not committed to and realise how much wierd stuff is in there. So exactly how is the universe structured? Something with a flat disk on top of elefants standing on a giant turtle swimming through the universe? What kinds of mushrooms did you eat, before getting that idea? You may have grown so acustomed to certain things in your religion and have been exposed to them to such an extend that they seem familiar, and therefore look normal; but for a moment try to step outside of it and do a similar evaluation to those things from the other religions. What did you say the symbol of your religion was? A medieval torture device? sound just like the thing you'd wear around your neck...and what did you do last sunday in church? Participated in a simulated canabalistic ritual where you pretended to eat the body and drink the blood of your god, who also happened to be his own farther? Maybe it is time to evaluate if this is really the smartest way

(I hit the wrong button again) trying to help the people you've hurt by your actions. It means coming to terms with both what you did and why. It includes making changes to ensure that you do not repeat the act. Repentance includes tears, struggle, fear, humiliation, honesty, grit, and desire to change. It's great to say hallelujah. It's a first step. It's not the last. Very few people are willing to put their faith to working on themselves. True repentance is a very long journey, and very much worth it, whether you do it in the name of God or not.

“One must state it plainly. Religion comes from the period of human prehistory where nobody—not even the mighty Democritus who concluded that all matter was made from atoms—had the smallest idea what was going on. It comes from the bawling and fearful infancy of our species, and is a babyish attempt to meet our inescapable demand for knowledge (as well as for comfort, reassurance and other infantile needs). Today the least educated of my children knows much more about the natural order than any of the founders of religion, and one would like to think—though the connection is not a fully demonstrable one—that this is why they seem so uninterested in sending fellow humans to hell.” ― Christopher Hitchens,

Not at all - humans are hard-wired to look for causes. When we don't understand what causes a phenomenon, we invent a story to fill that gap. People also have the tendency to see intelligence behind many things. I mean, look at how many people believe that their dog is Einstein? They are inventing human-type intelligence behind the dog's actions. For much larger phenomena, like storms or sunlight, they invent a cosmic intelligence, or intelligences.

Organized Religion is the root of all evil. It actively encourages humanity to ignore evidence, and reality under the delusion that the made up from the never was would never, ever let anything really bad happen to their favorite ant farm so just "try" to be a good person and do whatever you feel is right. Well the consequences of that blueprint are currently collapsing all around us while countless people continue to "believe" things are just gonna work out....for reasons. It's not odd, it's socially acceptable insanity, and it just makes me so freaking exhausted.

Humans have had a belief in God/gods/spirits since the dawn of man. Archeological evidence shows that Neanderthals buried their dead 130,000 years ago with items, flowers, even what's believed to be artwork. The grave of a child in Africa was recently discovered, dating back 80.000 years which had items with it. This shows a belief that someone/some god was paying attention in their eyes.

Religion, at this time is Catholic. Catholicism, wrote our history. The US constitution states separation of church and state....nothing is that. Leaders lean toward the bible. Our world is based on Christ, our calendar is baced on Christ. Muslims and Jews disagree, and disprove this "fact". Romans are Nazis, the Vatican, is a farce, and the world, would do better if we all accepted one another. Our technological advancements will be our down fall. Not politics or religion. Technology, that's our end.

I grew up that way and always thought I had no choice. Far forward to age 13 where I was a junior bride's maid and at the end of the after-party, a man, about 80 years old, asked me for a kiss as we were leaving. The dirty b*stard stuck his tongue down my throat and made an mmm sound. Now, a 51, ANY time a man kisses me and makes that sound, I want to vomit.

But… housing at < 1/4 your annual income and cars < 1/2 of it, like the formulas your grandparents lived by? Affordable education and healthcare? All de-normalized. Totally this. Had to go to a dinner party thing recently hosted by a couple I’d never met. They asked my partner what alcohol they should buy for us, and he told them I don’t drink alcohol so not to worry. Their reply? “She will be doing tomorrow”. They have no idea why I don’t drink, and I think it was a real out of order answer. Of course they then tried to get me to drink all evening.

Even when joking about this, it's an incredibly childish thing to do and normalize, especially when people jump on the bandwagon and attack anyone, especially celebrities for messing up or doing something that even slightly rubs people the wrong way. Expecting women to cover up or leave the room to breastfeed a baby. If the woman is more comfortable that way then fine, but treating feeding a baby as something dirty is really strange and unhelpful. People who want women to cover up to nurse a baby should try eating a meal with a blanket over their head!

I didn't care where I was or who was around. If my baby was hungry, I'd whip out the boob and not cover his head. Breastfeeding is natural and breasts are meant for feeding, that is there sole purpose!

"It's Actually Very Odd When You Think About It": 50 Things That Are Considered Normal But Are Weird As Shared By Our Community Expecting children to socialise with everyone and share everything. I was a very shy child so when my mum invited her mom friends over they’d all send their kids to my room to play with my stuff and it was like a form of torture. We should teach children about reasonable boundaries and respect - We don’t expect the same behaviour from adults so I don’t see why it’s acceptable to do to our kids

Actually, we do expect the same behaviour from adults. In a work environment, it's called networking and everyone seems to hate it but it's necessary for doing business. Also, how else would you meet new people at a party?

How 40 seems to be the cut off point for desirability in workers. Being over 40 is like a death march in life. Experience means nothing. Over 50 and people might as well just retire because people act like you are 100 years old.

So true! When I was in my 40s, I couldn't get a job to save my life. However, we recently moved to Washington, and I got 3 job offers after 2 months of job hunting. In the state government application system they ask if you are over 40, and it weighs your application in your favor. I presume it is in response to the discrimination you described. I had two public and one private job offers, so I guess the culture here is different? I've lived in other states where my age was definitely used against me, so Washington has been a tremendous relief!

I’m not necessarily complaining because I like to get together with friends and have a good time but I don’t remember my parents’ generation having this many ‘celebrations’ to go to. For only ONE young couple we know, we have attended the engagement party, bachelor/bachelorette party, the bridal shower, the wedding, 3 housewarmings, and soon to be 4 baby showers. They have been married for 6 years. I believe next year will mark their eldest child’s kindergarten graduation.

I greeted a server with "how are you" the other day. She responded with a shrug and a "meh." I said, "You know what? I appreciate your honesty. It's 2021; none of us is "fine." She laughed. Be less afraid to disrupt the status quo. Be human instead.

I agree. I always monitor how much I drink because I don't want to be in a state where I can't look after myself. It's rude to expect others to get you home and make sure you're safe and I think it's shameful to get yourself into those situations when going out with friends.
