Whether we like to admit it or not, we all know that there is a connection between looking good and feeling good. Stepping out into the world with our best faces on can give us a powerful sense of confidence, a self-esteem boost that can benefit many aspects of our lives - from our social interactions to how we go about our jobs.

Russian stylist Alexandr Rogov knows this and has set off on a tour of his huge country, transforming the looks of people who can only dream of the luxury boutiques of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Rogov is out to prove that style and fashion comes from the right choices and a little creativity, not just how much money you are able to spend!

Scroll down below to see some of Alexandr and his team's most impressive transformations so far, and let us know what you think in the comments!

"I used to be one of the biggest fashion stylists in Russia," Alexandr told Bored Panda. "I worked for fashion magazines, with Russian and international designers and big brands like Dior and Chanel."

"Then I got an invitation to work on TV as a presenter and stylist in a makeover show, and so I began my career on TV. I worked on TLC, MTV, TNT and now I am on CTC, the main entertainment channel of Russia."

She looks very cool, her hair suits her very well! Glad to see some wrinkles: they show she's lived!

Think the spotty, bowed shoes are an overkill next to a spotty skirt but other than that she looks so chic.

Alexandr has a background in education, and he still takes the time to conduct lectures and master classes on fashion and style in Moscow and the regions. He takes his work seriously, and seeks a deeper meaning in fashion than the glitz and glamor of glossy magazines. "I try to explore the best side of women," he continues. "I help them to find the better side of themselves. I am not styling only to make a show- I am styling them for real life. I am not only a stylist - I work as a psychologist too!"

What is Alexandr's favorite, most satisfying aspect of his job? "I most enjoy the moment when I open the mirror and see my client's reaction to her new look."

"It is the most incredible feeling!"

Every BEFORE picture is a mug shot, no smile, shoulders square with the camera, & poor lighting. Not a true apples & apples.

Great outfit & great haircut. That's how you rock a shaved head as a woman.

Prefer her before hair. Though I hope they put the jumper in the bin.

She looks like the clothes are wearing her. Too many bulky layers for her small frame. Rocking the 'do though.

I kinda liked her old style more. Only the brightening makeup and the shoes are better.

Literally all she needed was the haircut. Don't like the outfit at all.

I think the first pic looks way better, she could use shoes that fit the outfit better though.

Let me just say, you look wow! I don't know why but for a second (I kno I will sound hateful but that's not my intention) I thought it was Asa Butterfield. She looked amazing both ways, tho <3!!

I’m so glad makeup exists. The denim skirt looks unnecessary but I’m not the genius behind this makeover.

You are beautiful in both pictures and radiate fun in a very playful way. Your eyes are incredible! :) :) Great model with many looks she could pull off!! :) :)

I actually think both work. I do have a huge question. Maybe this isn't the place to ask but still would like to since I'm not sure where any other place may be. Why did you stick with the smudged," just-got-out-of-bed-with-make-up from-last-night-look" on her eyes? She has dazzeling eyes on the natch. Was there a way you could have hidden some of the darkness under them? Cucumbers or some naturally healthy way? She is beautiful any way you look at her. But, for a stylist who uses faces and fashion as your canvas, I'm surprised you didn't dramatize your natural beauty there or diminish it. Truly. I am interested and NOT being critizing or saying there is anything wrong with her beautiful face or body. Just very interested in your technique. You are the professional. I am simply a landscaper who loves to watch other artists work.

Not a fan of the haircut. Too severe. Then again, stylist didn’t have much to work with. And, where’s her smile? One would think she’d be happy. #growyourhairout Love the boots.

The before haircut was so much better. Cute pixie hairstyle. Shaved is awful on a girl.

I think the little denim skirt is overkill, but love the haircut & rest of the outfit

The haircut is fabulous, but the skirt with its underskirt effect look messy. Great shoes, leggings, bag and top.

First one where I don't see an improvement. He could have done a lot with her hair, but gave up and just shaved it. The outfit looks like it's trying too hard, too. Makeup is a little better, that's about it.

I just noticed they make them post boring in the before and all posey in the after. Some of the before outfits aren't that bad.

Like the new outfit and it suits her really well. The hair is too high on a long face. Needs width.
