For some people, it’s a childhood classic, for others—a fantastic new experience. And now that summer’s just around the corner, what better time to take a look at the wonder that is a magic bean tent than now? If you are looking for a DIY project that you can whip up in your garden with minimal requirements and materials, this one might be just right for you.
All you need is some poles, twine or string, soil, pole bean seeds, and/or annual climbing flower seeds. You don’t even need to be a particularly experienced green thumb for this garden DIY project—just have fun and watch your little project grow (literally)!

Depends where you live. About 3 months in my neck of the woods (zone 2, Canadian prairies).
Load More Replies...When I just moved into my current home at the age of 7 there was a bean tipi with a wire frame in the backyard left by the previous owners (I believe). I didn't think much of it until I decided to check it out one day. Realized it was quite a magical nook. Sadly, my mom eventually took it down.
This is such an old fashioned idea. Did this for my kids 35 years ago. Have the kids plant the seeds. Get them into gardening
I don't have kids, so I'll just have to grow a big one for myself...
With the amount of spiders and wasps here in the summer... a resounding NOPE.
Looks great for the kids. Shady, private, just what they would enjoy!
Plant pole beans , squash and cucumbers on the pole tent. Plant marigold flowers to keep bugs away.
