During the 1930s, the American Humane Association organized a "Be Kind To Animals" week where they shared posters of people taking care of animals. These adorable posters used artist's Morgan Dennis' work who was already known for his drawings, particularly of dogs. Each poster had an illustration of a charming child shown taking care of an animal. The main goal of the posters was to spread the message that people should love and respect animals.

Scroll down to see some of these adorable posters yourself and don't forget to tell us what you think in the comments!

I will never understand the lack of empathy of a person who enjoys hunting and animal just for 'fun'. I understand that primitive societies needed it to survive, but doing it just as a hobbie shows to me that you are a cruel person with no empathy.

Good care includes shelter, food, water, and most importantly, love.

The message is what’s important here! It doesn’t matter if that’s milk or water! besides, even in the 60s pregnant women used to drink and smoke, so... times and understanding keep improving

The leash is there for a reason though, to prevent this from happening. A child that small shouldn't be responsible for a baby and a dog

On vacation I came across a donkey tied up with no water on a very hot day. I made a pan out of some litter and shared the last of my water from a long hike. The poor animal was so thirsty. I wanted to set him loose from such a cruel owner, but I didn't want trouble in a foreign country.

That quote is from Alexander Pope's Epistles to Several Persons (1732): ‘'Tis education forms the common mind, Just as the twig is bent the tree's inclined.’
