Bartender Savagely Kicks A Polite Nazi Customer Out Of His Bar And Explains Why It’s Important To Do So

Tolerance is a virtue that’s mostly perceived as a crucially important brick in order to build a healthy and peaceful society. In a way, tolerance has turned into a mark that embodies the historical progress humanity has made over the years. But here’s a question—is tolerance supposed to have limits?

In 1945, a philosopher named Karl Popper introduced a concept that he called the paradox of tolerance. “Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance,” he wrote. “If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.” In other words, if society is tolerant without any limits, the intolerant people will eventually destroy it. “We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant,” Karl Popper wrote.

Today’s story is closely related to this concept. A Twitter user named @IamRageSparkle recently shared a story about his encounter with a bartender who noticed a customer wearing nazi symbols on his clothes and kicked him out of the bar. This story once again shows us how important it is to try to see people’s true intentions and never tolerate the act of being cruel and those who choose to support awful things.

Here’s the Twitter thread where @IamRageSparkle briefly told the story

Here’s what people on the internet thought about this story

Bartender is right. More to the point: LEARN the symbols. They're not always swastikas. Learn them all. Even ones that *might* be ambiguous. The summary of the symbols will equal Nazi. IT CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE! ... And b/c people don't want to make a scene or b/c "he's a neighbor" or "he goes to church" (?!).... the malignant b----s get stronger.

For reference, some of the main ones include: 88 (the number represents a letter of the alphabet by order, so HH), SS made to look similar to lightning bolts, a version of the Celtic cross with the lower portion made the same length as the other 'arms', a symbol that looks like a Z with a line through the slanted portion, The Death's Head skull, the Imperial Eagle... I highly suggest that people do learn the symbols so they can recognize Nazis and Nazi sympathizers. Zero tolerance.

I love how blunt, matter of fact and to the point he was. 'No. Get out.' No big philosophical debate, no long winded verbal finger wagging just straight to the point. It solved the problem while giving the guy the absolute minimum amount of attention. A perfect example of 'I ain't got time for your shit!'
