Not all days were made equal. You see, while sometimes everything falls according to plan, other days turn into 24-hour-long grueling benders that make you question why you even dared to get out of bed.

Blame it on bad luck, your daily horoscope, Mercury in retrograde, incantations, karma, or anything you want, but it doesn’t change the fact that misfortunes and fails do happen. Think of them as compulsory reality checks that remind us we are mere human beings with little to no control of greater things happening in this world. But philosophy aside, if we can’t change anything, at least we can have a good laugh at it.

Bored Panda has compiled this list of people having a worse day than you so you can feel slightly better today until your fail day comes, and when you’re done with this post, check out our previous features here, here and here with more failure.

At first I thought this person's partner was kicking him/her out, so I guess it could be worse (I'd be p****d though too if this happened to me)

It’s only human that things sometimes fall out of our hands. It feels like the world is against you for some unreasonable reason and to call it irritating would be a hefty understatement. But if we can’t change a bad day, we can always change the way we look at it. And here we’re going to need some help from a professional. So to find out more about resilience and the power of positivity, we spoke with Susan Petang, a certified divorce coach and the creator of “The Quiet Zone Coaching,” who teaches people how to stop feeling overwhelmed and start waking up happy in the morning again.

The Only Path Back To My Room Blocked By Cute But Incredibly Angry Sea Lions

NanoArowanaTank Report

The first step towards building mental resilience is instead of viewing these unfortunate moments as "failures" or "misfortunes," view them as learning opportunities, Susan argues. She urges us to think of a couple of things: “What can we learn from this? How can we use this to become a better human being/worker/parent/partner?” and added that crucially, it's a matter of mindset.

It turns out that some people are more naturally resilient than others. “But it's because they learned to think positively at a young age,” Susan said. “Our attitude towards life - the good, the bad, and the ugly - is formed before we go to kindergarten. Positivity isn't about putting your head in the sand and singing 'lalalala' when bad things happen; it's actually just the knowledge that we'll be OK no matter what,” the life coach explained.

According to Susan, positivity and resilience are very closely related. “Positivity is the understanding and belief that you'll be able to bounce back from anything; resilience is when you actually do it.”If your day is going against the plan and you feel like you could blow up anytime, Susan shared some very useful insights on how to put yourself together and get back on track.

“I teach my clients to use The Power Questions. It's a great way to interrupt the spiral of emotions when everything is hitting the fan!” They are as follows:

“How important is this, really? Don't make mountains out of molehills.

What is something positive and constructive I can do about this? Be solution-oriented instead of blame-oriented.

What emotions am I feeling right now? By identifying and labeling them, we shrink their power over us."

Are you sure it was UPS that did this? Wasn’t it actually the scammer you bought it from (have seen a lot of this posted online when people get “bargains” from sketchy sellers).

Dude needs some heavy duty moisturiser- mine get like that very quickly when cleaning (and all the using hand sanitiser these days) as my skin is so sensitive, goes dry and cracks etc - I have these moisturising gloves, i smoother my hand in moisturiser and put them on at night - feels weird but it works, and stops me eating junk because I'm bored

Eucerin for immediate relief, Miracle Of Aloe for daily maintenance. That's how I kept my hands from looking like this over this past winter (dry air and a job handling dirty cardboard so that I have to wash my hands every time I get a break and eat a snack, plus pulling safety gloves on and off a hundred times a day.)

Get urea cream , and some natural hand balm like Burt's Bees. If it's painful you can cover it in honey . It's helps clear it up too , but it's messy and doesn't work as well as the urea cream and balm

There is a 2 step process that works wonders for hands (or feet) like this. It is best to do it before bed. First, slather in some thick, dye and fragrance free lotion, CeraVe has a ultra thick cream that is the best). Let it absorb, then cover in a thin coat ofVaseline, auquafor, bagbalm, etc. The cream adds much needed moisture, and the Vaseline works as a barrier between the air, which can Rob your skin of much needed moisture, and your moisturized skin. Works wonders. And if you are feeling extra fancy and make it a 3 step process, get some cotton gloves and put them to wear overnight

Working Hands is good and affordable, or Eucerin. This is what my hands look like when I haven't scrubbed or put any lotion on for days in winter, and have been using harsh soaps and sanitizers.
