12-Year-Old Babysitter Encouraged A Little Girl She Was Watching, 11 Years Later She Got This Letter
Just a few words of encouragement can seriously mean the world to someone, and this babysitter’s heartwarming story just showed us why.
When Raquel used to babysit a little girl, she would always tell her how much she loved her art. Raquel would put on a sports-announcer Olympics-style voice, and talk about how nice the little girl’s art is, encouraging her to keep on drawing. Now, years later, the little girl is all grown up and just got accepted into three major art schools. She couldn’t be more grateful to her babysitter, so she wrote her the sweetest letter to thank her. Keep on scrolling to check it out and remember to always encourage others – it can change their lives!
This babysitter decided to share her story about the importance of encouragement, and it’s heartwarming
The story has touched hundreds of people, spreading positivity around the Internet

Get a real job, Stop trying to take away what OTHER PEOPLE have worked hard for Just because you don't want to, and stop posting this stuff in the comments of pages that it is completely unrelated to. It's people like you who ruin the comments sections for all of us. You should be ashamed. Take note that this is only a stern talking to, If I see you post this sort of thing again, I will do much worse. I know how.
Load More Replies....... I just realized how messed up the internet has made me because after reading this, I just stated questioning and judging it. "this is so fake. Why is she sharing this? Is nothing private anymore? Snapchat filter.... Really" then I just paused and checked myself. Damn.
Go with those feelings. We don't need to know everything going on in people's lives, and the filter nonsense ugh.
Load More Replies...This is inspiring. Not only to continue my art dream, but to encourage others.
I just wrote a paper on how encouragement can actually alter our genomes!
Oh wow that's really interesting. I've just finished psychology AS Level (don't know if I've passed yet though!) and we touched on the nature/nurture thing and I really found it fascinating. So, if we've been conditioned to think we're rubbish and worthless etc, does that change our genomes? And is it possible to reverse that through positivity? Kind of like CBT?
Load More Replies...I wish someone had done this for me, every time I took an interest in something, my family made fun of me for it. Now I understand they never did what they wanted they kept me down with them but I never did follow through with my love of the piano. Good for her, that little girl is going to have a lovely career because someone took the time to care. I love it.
it's great, but makes me think... do her parents believed in her too? or it was just her babysitters... if so it's kind of sad
Sometimes confidence or belief from someone outside the family can make a much larger impression on a person than anything the parents do or say. (Also works for negative comments, btw). It doesn't have to say anything negative about the parents' relationship with the kid.
Load More Replies...Umm.... Guys, I hope you know this has been on tumblr for YEARS now. This isn't a new thing.
11 years later .... where is the letter? How old is the baby now? I feel confused of the title.
You don't have to be a parent or a teacher to nurture a young mind -- opportunities to do this are everywhere. You may be encouraging the next Picasso.
I always encouraged My Kids, and My Daughter has now got her dream job as a Nanny and My Son is now an AV Engineer with his own Business, He worked on the 2012 Olympics, The Crystal Maze, and Wimbledon to name a few.. Very proud of them. And I tell My Grandkids that they can achieve anything they put their mind to..........
This is one of the best things I have ever read, now I am not giving up on what I want to do :D
My kindergarten teacher sent a note home saying I "colored like a boy". I'm now a full time artist.
I hope I have that kind of influence on my students. I try to be the kind of teacher that makes them feel loved, no matter what. The kids from my first year of teaching just graduated high school this year!
This. This is why humans can be great, great individuals. Other human kindness.
ALWAYS...remember this story!! And remember to encourage ANY child you come into contact with! Just a few positive words go a LONG way with a child!

This isn't quite as bad as @sophiarogers' Post, but it still has nothing to do with the article, and, honestly, I suspect at first glance that it' spam. Glad it's so far down
