Rescuers Save Baby Lion Who Had His Legs Broken To Take Pictures With Tourists
Recently a sad story about a little lion surfaced on the internet. This adorable lion cub was taken away from his mother when he was only a few months old. He was taken away to be used as a tourist attraction. The horrible people that stole him broke his leg and wounded his spine so that he wouldn’t be able to run away or struggle when tourists took pictures with him. After saving the wounded lion cub, rescuers brought him straight to the vets to have surgery, which, thankfully, was successful. The saviors named the lion Simba.

This horrific crime angered many people, including the president of Russia—Vladimir Putin—who, according to reports, personally ordered a criminal investigation into the matter.
The poor lion was tied up in a barn, forced to take pictures with tourists. It’s reported that he was also tortured and beaten. He was on the brink of death, with injuries on his legs, spine, and many other places. However, thanks to good people and amazing doctors, Simba is alive and well today, learning to trust humans again.

Poor little guy. I don't understand how anyone can be so cruel. I also don't understand people who get their picture taken with tortured animals. I once visited Turkey when I was little. There was a man who had a great brown bear on a chain. He asked everyone who walked by to have a picture taken for money. Not only had the man pulled out the bear's claws, he had also torn out the entire lower jaw. It was heartbreaking and my parents told him to go to hell. I'm glad that is how I was raised.

Thank you to Dr. Karen and his team for working hard to save this beautiful creature and give him a better quality of life. It is heartbreaking that Simba will never be able to return to the wild due to the absolute cruelty and greed of the wildlife tourism trade, but I'm glad that he is now living a happier life. Animal tourism needs to end and people who practice and perpetuate it need to be punished. There are some truly sick and twisted arseholes out there, but I'm glad for people like Dr. Karen.
So glad he got rescued before he died, looks like he was no more than a few days/weeks away from a cruelly painful death. What happened to this future King, is simply Barbaric and it's hard to imagine that there are people in this World, who deem this as acceptable because "It's just an animal". Horrific! It still looks like he has serious wounds a yr after on his legs and frankly there is no evidence (here at least) that he can walk. He will need surgery for that. What misery that poor creature has experienced and probably will experience in the future.

Those eyes! Poor little guy has seen some things. I hope he eventually gets to do real lion stuff. Regardless of a person's intentions, it always makes me sad to see a wild animal living as a pet. I'm not saying he should be released in the wild or anything. That would be irresponsible. Anyone who takes pictures with an animal in that state is just as much to blame as the person who did it to them in the first place. Pathetic.
tourists who take pictures with any animal are responsible for this as much as the lowlifes who exploit the animals. Before ANY interaction with a wild species, consider how the interaction will benefit that individual animal and 100% of the time the answer is that it will not benefit the animal.

I recommend doing research before visiting a place with animals. Having one's picture taken with a wild animal could be promoting exploitation and abuse. Ditto for swimming with dolphins, attending circuses that use wild animals, etc. Instead of getting a wild animal, donate to well-run organizations and sanctuaries.

If you are approached by people with an animal to have your photograph taken please say no and report it an animal welfare organization. Especially the ones that capture them to put them in zoos or kill them to take their fur. God bless the people who took care or will take care of that adorable cub. All the best. Saving this lion cub is a great story and I am glad he was able to do it. But there are so many pictures of him on his Instagram posing with tigers and lions, and what appears to be cub petting. None of this is good for wild animals. By far the WORST thing I saw on his Instagram is that he supports a man who has been arrested for the worst big cat cruelty I have ever seen. Absolutely horrific. It appears they 'hobbled' his back legs (Hobbling is the act of crushing the bones in the ankles and feet so that they may not walk; it is mostly used as a form of torture). I am happy he is healing. This is the same method of control that was done to slaves in the 1700 and 1800's. We must make sure that we are as hurt and horrified by what has occurred to fellow human beings as we are when we see these types of things done to animals, all done by the same sort of 'inhuman' being.

This is who animal sanctuaries are for. That poor animal will never be able to fend for itself in the wild, the best you can do is try to give them the best life you can while keeping them in a place they can't be hurt. Zoos- not super necessary, but a lot of sanctuaries kind of function as zoos so they can make money to care for the animals. I honestly just have a hard time with the fact that someone- hell, MULTIPLE people would have been involved I'm sure- could do this to a living animal. Goddamn monsters.

In the first few pictures, his eyes show that he has looked into the void that is human evil. You can really see when he has begun looking up into the warmth that is human love.
Even after all the cruelty this beautiful lion has suffered it survives, it thrives and it loves unconditionally. The 16th picture down of this lion is priceless. Healed and displaying it's magnificent beauty. Thank you Karen Dallakyan for all you did to save this life. God gifted man with the animals and one day judgement will delivered. For now we only have the unselfish, kind and decent people like you that possess the skills and are willing to give the time to save these animals from the hate and abuse brought on them by humans. The Kind people that save lives like Simba are the most important, they show other humans how to care and be loving. That Lion now feels love after such evil. I literally pet each photo on my screen as I scrolled, and looked lovingly into the eyes of those in the photos that helped Simba know what love is. I don't have words for the people who do this. I visited Siberia in 1995 and was taken to a "zoo" and it was horrific. I felt so helpless to do anything and so heartbroken for the animals. Our local guides didn't see why we were upset.

Thank you to Dr. Karen and his team for working hard to save this beautiful creature and give him a better quality of life. It is heartbreaking that Simba will never be able to return to the wild due to the absolute cruelty and greed of the wildlife tourism trade, but I'm glad that he is now living a happier life. Animal tourism needs to end and people who practice and perpetuate it need to be punished. There are some truly sick and twisted arseholes out there, but I'm glad for people like Dr. Karen.

I recommend doing research before visiting a place with animals. Having one's picture taken with a wild animal could be promoting exploitation and abuse. Ditto for swimming with dolphins, attending circuses that use wild animals, etc. Instead of getting a wild animal, donate to well-run organizations and sanctuaries.

Saving this lion cub is a great story and I am glad he was able to do it. But there are so many pictures of him on his Instagram posing with tigers and lions, and what appears to be cub petting. None of this is good for wild animals. By far the WORST thing I saw on his Instagram is that he supports a man who has been arrested for the worst big cat cruelty I have ever seen. Absolutely horrific. It appears they 'hobbled' his back legs (Hobbling is the act of crushing the bones in the ankles and feet so that they may not walk; it is mostly used as a form of torture). I am happy he is healing. This is the same method of control that was done to slaves in the 1700 and 1800's. We must make sure that we are as hurt and horrified by what has occurred to fellow human beings as we are when we see these types of things done to animals, all done by the same sort of 'inhuman' being.

This is who animal sanctuaries are for. That poor animal will never be able to fend for itself in the wild, the best you can do is try to give them the best life you can while keeping them in a place they can't be hurt. Zoos- not super necessary, but a lot of sanctuaries kind of function as zoos so they can make money to care for the animals. I honestly just have a hard time with the fact that someone- hell, MULTIPLE people would have been involved I'm sure- could do this to a living animal. Goddamn monsters.

In the first few pictures, his eyes show that he has looked into the void that is human evil. You can really see when he has begun looking up into the warmth that is human love.
Even after all the cruelty this beautiful lion has suffered it survives, it thrives and it loves unconditionally. The 16th picture down of this lion is priceless. Healed and displaying it's magnificent beauty. Thank you Karen Dallakyan for all you did to save this life. God gifted man with the animals and one day judgement will delivered. For now we only have the unselfish, kind and decent people like you that possess the skills and are willing to give the time to save these animals from the hate and abuse brought on them by humans. I don't have words for the people who do this. I visited Siberia in 1995 and was taken to a "zoo" and it was horrific. I felt so helpless to do anything and so heartbroken for the animals. Our local guides didn't see why we were upset.
