Woman Live-Tweets Awkward First Date Conversation From Cafe
Canadian blogger Anne Thériault was minding her own business in a Toronto coffee shop when she heard a date dipped in so much douchebaggery, she actually LIVE-TWEETED the spectacle.
Using her smartphone, Thériault documented the 30-minute date in which the guy showed no apparent interest in the girl he was with. In addition to asking her whether she’d “ever dated a writer” (hint; that was his job), he also confessed to looking “like James Franco”, and told her his Puttanesca pasta sauce was even better than his friend’s… who, incidentally, is a chef. What a surprise, no?
Unsurprisringly, the girl had “a look of mild panic” and came up with one of the best excuses to get out of out of what was possibly the dullest half hour of her life.
Think you’ve had Tinder nightmares? Spare a thought for this girl who had a real one!

Share on FacebookI've met lots of guys (and girls) like this one. I was a full-time working musician for 38 years (with a degree in music so not a wannabe rock star), also a part-time PUBLISHED writer. Narcissistic attention-seekers like this one approached me all the time, trying desperately to insinuate themselves in my life. Most are living off their parents or a significant other and claiming to be 'artists looking for their big break' so they don't have to get a job. They always believe they're more talented, intelligent, and sensitive than everyone else. And it's amazing how many of them claim to be screen-writers—it's because they want to steal a little glitter from Hollywood as well. This girl didn't run fast enough! BTW, music and writing aren't all that glamorous or high-paying in the real world lol.
I just went back and re-read that whole thing in Brian's voice. Makes much more sense now.
Load More Replies...I have been texting with guys from a dating site....they ask me where I live and what I do...that is about it...It is ALWAYS about THEM -- like i should be enrapt with their dull lives. ...and they rarely ask me anything about myself. Douche. Bags. I think instead, I will just get a dog.
Jesus christ on a crutch, I wouldn't even have bothered with the bogus excuse... I would have just said to his/her face (bisexuality means having twice the chance to be confronted by used douchebags of either sex) that this was NOT working out, and BUH-bye. But, I'm a boy, and I know that girls have to put up with some scary s**t during those first dates that males do not. The most frightening thing? As much of a train wreck as this was... it wasn't the worst I've witnessed this YEAR. :-/
I'm glad the girl is smart enough to see he's a jerk right away. Some people are so lonely they think this kind of behaviour is 'self confidence.'
Great play-by-play reporting! Very entertaining. Often the best conversations are the ones overheard when people don't know you're listening.
I am trying to work out who was sadder, the guy.. the girl.. or the person whose own life is so empty this was her source of entertainment...
The World is full of stupid people... virtually eavesdropping a douche and some girl is a sign that you have too much free time, and you use this free time judging idiotic conversation... this post is worth less than my time typing here... now i am the idiot... plz filter what you guys post a lill better
This is a somewhat interesting look into someone's date moment, but I also see this as a HUGE invasion of privacy!! I am a calm, kind, understanding and highly open-book sort of person, but I would be livid if anyone shared my private conversation/situation online like this! Not cool.
Very not cool...IF its real at all, obviously since she writes a blog [aka: graffiti with punctuation] she has a lot of traffic directed to her website

The sad, ironic thing is once this guy recognizes himself here on Bored Panda, he will take it as a compliment!!!!!
Aha hahaha! Wow! Seems like something I would do... or my friend... or my mother... or most people I know
This guy reminds me of that old song - "Oh Lord it's hard to handsome, when you're perfect in every way. I can't wait to look in the mirror, I get better looking each day......" LOL
So enough about me. What do you think about me? Good writers are curious, ask questions, have a genuine interest in others.
I hear that the SNL skit that eventually became the movie "A Night at the Roxbury" was conceived by a writer after watching the antics of a guy in a night club. Keep an eye out. Maybe he'll come back with a new girl and you can gather some more material? ;o)
At first I thought ghad who would do that? But I love it - story of my (dating) life and glad to hear -- it's not just me :) ty!
If any of it was actually real, how do we know she made this up ?

The guy that I am reading about just doesn't know what to do and what to say! Anne Theriault's act of mocking someone while he doesn't know and sharing it with others, is awful and not funny at all!
Exactly, her nosy behaviour is applauded by misandrist feminists as something good and telling by the down arrows to anyone who objects to her smarmy ways, they are coming here in droves

I think this "blogger" has a problem of her own. She needs to mind her own business and stop shaming people via social media.
Exactly- these days if you don't think exactly like everyone else, you're an object of ridicule by the though police. So the guy doesn't know how to socialize well on a date- we're mocking him because we're so enlightened ourselves?

Bursting people's bubbles takes away from your own energy which could have been better spent in improving the relationship with the people that are really close to you.
