‘Awful Everything’ Online Community Shames World’s Worst People And Here’s 50 Of Their Most Hated Ones
When you’re scrolling through social media or reading the news, it can start to feel like there’s no good left on this planet. Hearing about terrible and devastating events can sometimes become a little overwhelming. But instead of keeping these feelings to ourselves, we can start a conversation online.
Awful Everything is a subreddit where more than 1.4M members share pictures about the worst of the worst. From stories about the healthcare system and financial troubles to abusive police officers, this community is shining a light on the struggles people face every day.
Bored Panda has collected some of the top-voted images from this online group, so continue scrolling. And if you’re feeling up to it, share your own experiences and thoughts in the comment section below.

I Wish ...humanity Changes
Aaron Tucker
Since 2014, the subreddit has been steadily growing and bringing our attention to the devastating things happening around us. From gruesome crimes to minor injustices, the community is dedicated to showing how bad our world can get. As the moderators say, “Lament with us as we view all things that are just genuinely awful.”
Sadly, we have a tendency to dwell on the things that go wrong and use stronger words to describe them. When it comes to the positive or neutral incidents, they seem to be not as important. Just think about negative stereotypes—humans are quick to form bad impressions and often have a hard time changing their views.
Poor Guy :(
These stories break my heart, they really do. So many people, SO MANY, are just one illness away from this happening to them. Our government has utterly failed us.
The Fact That This Is So Common Is Heartbreaking
Even if some of us have a rather optimistic view of life, people still remember more details about their unpleasant experiences. “The brain handles positive and negative information in different hemispheres,” Clifford Nass, a professor of communication at Stanford University, told The New York Times.
He said that negative emotions generally involve more thinking, and the information is processed more thoroughly than positive ones.
Psychologists refer to this as the negativity bias. Picture it: you’re having a pleasant day at work until your coworker throws you an inconsiderate comment. When you come back home, what will you remember more—the overall good day or the remark?
We Are All Spolied
Richest Country
Roy Baumeister, a social psychologist and co-author of The Power of Bad: How the Negativity Effect Rules Us and How We Can Rule It, said that it’s one of the most basic psychological principles that seems to be true everywhere.
“A mind is prone to overreact to negative things relative to positive things; so people can use this to manipulate us, or we can use this to manipulate other people,” he explained. “If we understand this, we can prevent some of the negative effects and improve the quality of our social life.”
Rest In Peace, Acab
I just don't understand how it is considered justified if he was shot in the back! How can someone be a threat with their back towards you? I really hope this case is properly handled and the officers are not only terminated from their jobs but also sent to prison/death row! May Darrien rest in peace.
The Power Of Hate
There are so many great folks left out of history. Leprosy used to be a disease that would kill or maim so many people through history until a 23-year old black chemist named Alice Ball came up with a cure in 1915. Unfortunately she died the next year due to an accident. Who knows what she could have accomplished? https://scientificwomen.net/women/ball-alice-121
John Tierney, a journalist and the other co-author of this book, mentioned that the reason why we focus more on bad news is probably that it is aimed at the general public. “And the things that affect everyone tend to be negative—we’re all afraid of dying; we’re all afraid of being hurt. Focusing on those shared concerns is the easiest way to reach a mass audience.”
However, people on social media tend to share stories that are more pleasant. “That’s because the positive things we’re interested in—our hobbies, our cultural interests, the books we read—are more idiosyncratic,” he added. “Curating your news feed so that you’re not seeing so many negative stories can be good.”
Everything About This
A Running Top
Understanding and noticing our tendency to dwell on the negativities in life should help us to recognize that things are usually not as bad as we think. While it is important to share and discuss the problems we face in today’s world, it’s also vital to balance it out with the good stuff. So if you’re feeling a bit down, we’ve got you covered. Just take a look at some of our most recent wholesome posts here and right here.

And a group of black women tried to save him by calling the cops and were so concerned that the cops hadn't taken them seriously that they called back to find out what happened to the boy and were told the incident had been "Taken care of. "
Load More Replies...What's worse is the victim had actually escaped while Dahmer was out, and was being helped by a group of women. Dahmer came home and tried to tell them he was his drunk boyfriend and take him home, but they refused to let Dahmer leave with him. When they then objected to Dahmer being allowed to take the boy away and pointed out the injuries, the police told them to shut up and but out of their business.
and because of the time period as soon as the officers got a whiff of anything homosexual involved they just wanted to have their hands clear of it as soon as possible, they even helped to carry the boy back inside and completely missed the rotting body of his last victim

Ahhh Wisconsin - the state where they acquitted a murderer for killing peaceful protestors with a gun his mother bought him.
You're honestly surprised? The white man's voice always wins. This is a white-man dominated world. It explains why "people of colour" are called "people of colour" when they should only be called "people". It also explains why women (of any "colour") are still considered second-class citizens. Now, try and imagine a woman of "colour" acting as ineptly as, say, Donald Trump... Now, can you imagine the white man's reaction?
Load More Replies...I suspect that homophobia was also involved. The boy was naked and visibly injured. Either the cops thought that this was normal in gay male relationships and/or they thought that gay men are deserving of violence. Horrible all around that a rapist and killer's words took precedence over what they could clearly see.
If by injured you mean a hole drilled into his head? And (unknown to everyone but Dahmer) acid having been poured on his brain?
Load More Replies...Because he was white. this has happened to me. Got attacked by a white male while at home. He had been in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and when the police came they were more worried bc when he broke my window he cut his vein. They never took the name down, my report and lied that i did. He is white and i am brown. Still free out there while on probation for the assaults. The police never even ran his name.
Yup He was naked and bleeding and the police just went "wild Friday night" probably because they assumed he was gay. Nevermind he was underage. He was messd up and probably couldn't express himself properly, but being naked and bleeding in thr Street is a sign
Very similar story with some of John Wayne Gacy's victims. About the best I can make of it is because the victims were usually a bit out of it (drugged) and in a gay 'relationship' that the police just decided it was all part of the weird sex games those weird gay people play... I seem to remember a huge age difference, clear power imbalance and terrorised victims in all instances but hey.
I DONT GIVE A FLYING F**K WHAT THE RACE WAS! HE WAS STILL A CHILD AND SOMEHOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SCENARIO WAS NORMAL?! I wouldn't trust this cop with a house plant!!!
The then cop was John A. Balcerzak, now retired, served as president of the Milwaukee Police Association (the police union for Milwaukee officers) from 2005 to 2009.
That’s not quite what happened. The kid whos name was Konerak Sinthasomphone didn’t speak english and was drugged. Dahmer went to get more beer and left the unconscious boy on his couch who woke up and escaped. He was found by 2 girls who called the cops and when they arrived Dahmer was heading back from the liquor store and came over and told the cops that it was his 19yr old boyfriend who was drunk. The cops were homophobic and made a comment about having to get deloused after dealing with them. The kid was 14 and the cops did escort him back to Dahmer’s apartment instead of looking up Dahmer’s name and the kids name. They would of seen that Dahmer was a registered sex offender who was convicted a year prior of molesting this 14yr olds older brother. The cops also smelled a decaying smell at Dahmer’s apartment which was a decomposing body of his previous victim in the bedroom that they didn’t investigate. I mean these two had no business being cops.
One of the cops explained the situation over the radio &, while laughing, said they were coming back to the station get "de-loused." Nice guy.
I would just end up killing myself in his situation. Save my soul. AND THAT IS ALSO A PROBLEM. We go threw this crap and then have bad mental health and then people just tell us to be happy and grateful for what we have
It gets worse. The people who called it in were two black girls who knew the victim and his age and called for help. The cops believed Dahmer over them. They were so distraught they got their grandmother to call dispatch back to insist that something wasn't right and she did and they fobbed her off again saying it was a 'lovers quarrel' the system failed in multiple ways that night. There are transcripts of her calling the police insisting. Its so sad.
Yup, a clear case of a lazy officer telling himself that this is a civil matter not a criminal one. Countless victims of people with a low or no work ethic, the ripple effect of these decisions to do less than what’s required of you at your work has real consequences, even for people who were never at the scene at the time. Do better, if it’s your job, then do your job in the best way for all involved.
(CAUTION: unsettling/gory) Dahmer had drilled a hole in the boy's head and injected some hydrochloric acid into his brain in an attempt to create some kind of mindless sex slave, that's why the victim, Konerak Sinthasomphone, was incoherent and desoriented and the cops thought he was drunk or high. The officers actually were let go after the incident created a stir - but got reinstated after they appealed.
Starting to understand why cops come off as utter dumbasses in a lot of movies and shows 😓
If I remember it correctly, he told them they were dating & had an argument.
And my cop takes a care package, a coffee, and hot meal to a shut-in every week. Spends time with her talking and listening.

I heard about this in a horror story podcast. A HORROR STORY PODCAST!
More details, but not for the faint of heart https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Balcerzak
imagine being able to escape the apartment of horror, which chances are sooo low once a perpetrator managed to take you to another place/car/house and with the overwhelming feeling of freedom and the idea that everything is going to be okay now and you will get help, people let it happen that your perpetrator drags you right back into this hell.. this is.. I can't imagine that feeling
There were also 2 women theres as witnesses, who met the kid on the street, who could tell that obviously something was wrong and didn't want to let Dahmer take the kid, but the police told them to f**k off and mind their own business. John Wayne Gracy was reported so many times for being connected to child rape cases, and then police goes *surprised Pikachu face* when they find 29 bodies under his house
You’re a sick disgusting c**t who should have been aborted. Eat s**t and die you worthless piece of s**t.

It almost seems like American cops would rather work with rapist, abusers, murderers, corruption, and brutality in their force. Than becoming those who fight against it. People like in the pictures above should be celebrated and become the norm. But hey.. what do I know.
Just Awful
Sadly female upon male abuse is rarely seen and even worse, rarely stopped because not many believe it happens. I have a friend with lasting brain damage from being abused by his wife and daughter. He ended up having part of his brain removed. It does happen, but not many believe, let alone catch it. Most think the woman is the victim.

All this stuff about the. price of insulin makes me so mad because the insulin patent from was originally sold for $1 with the understanding that cheap insulin would become available to all. Well, I'm more thoroughly depressed now than when I started, so thanks for that.
If it helps you to feel better, in 2021 there have been great medical breakthroughs and treatments to help beat cancers, alzheimers, diabetes. Plus there have been great strides in ocean cleanup recently. It's a hard pill to swallow, but helps to be aware of horrific things in order to stop it. Progression in humanity isn't always beautiful and quite a dirty job.

Honestly I am disgusted by everything in this post!!! WE CAN CHANGE THIS!
Stuff like these are the reason why I'll never bring kids into this miserable world!
I have great grandkids. By the time they get to my age, there will no longer be a United States because we will violently implode from the inequality we see here today. Such a shame and so sad for words. There should be no First Amendment rights when you promote a lie. Liars such as Trump should be in jail for slander and libel. And broadcasters, such as Fox News should not be allowed to blatantly lie and should be shut down immediately. And then I woke up
Honestly, you'll be lucky if your kids make it to your age before everything implodes, never mind younger generations.

I had a medication that I needed to function that cost $25 per pill. I was supposed to take 2 pills per day, but I managed okay if I took 4 pills every 3 days. There were a couple of times when we had to decide whether we would pay for my medicine or the mortgage. There was a class action suit, and I got 12% of that money back. Over $8,000. The medicine is modafinil, by the way.
I always lose faith in humanity when I read these because they are so universal. We have many of the same problems and the corruption runs deep within the system. Imagine following all the right steps but still having to pay to get the end product.

I have a story to add: So, we left my abusive father, he was high on drugs all the time, hit me, emotionally and mentally abused my mom and me, lied and endangered my brother and I. Well, once we left, he continued to harass us and show up at our house, drive by to scare me. We called the police, we got restraining orders, everything, yet the police never enforced the orders. Eventually the judge said he wasn't going to give us anymore. My mom got remarried and my father didn't like that. He drove by our new house, sent threatening texts and FB messages, sat outside our house while my brother nad I were there alone. I called the cops many times. Sometimes they never even showed up. My father wanted to kill us. He had said it in messages, on phone calls. Even told me how he would kill my stepdad. Yet the police still did nothing. I pretty much lost my faith in the legal system then. Anyways, thanks for coming to my TEDTalk
What I learned from this thread: The US healthcare system is a dumpster fire and most (not all) police officers abuse their power, got it 👍. All jokes aside, I really hate how most people are so greedy and self absorbed that the people who are actually good and helping society are suffering because of it :(
Now I want to fight humanity is it possible, how do I do it, and should I do it?

Obviously I'm not saying it's the only place this s**t applies to but it's shocking how many of these are well known to happen in USA. How anyone can claim it's the best country in the world with a straight face is beyond belief. The healthcare system is insane, I mean here insulin is free but all prescriptions are in Scotland, but England still charges something like £10 for prescriptions still give insulin for free. I couldn't even imagine being in a situation where I had to refuse treatment due to the cost. The system in USA is completely broken and folk need to open their eyes to the sad fact it's actually one of the worst
