My parents got married because my mum started a new job in two months and they could get married persons quarters with it. The 'proposal' was apparently my father saying, "well I suppose it makes sense, doesn't it?" They've been married 50 years and going strong to this day.

Totally don't understand the hateful comment. The couple looked so happy. Maybe KFC was their first date. Maybe it's their go to fastfood place. Maybe they met there. Frankly it doesn't matter. To take someone else's happy & special moment and try to turn it ugly because you don't approve of the restaurant choice says a whole lot more about the person making the comment.

And yet, boomers made everything worse for following generations like it was their mission in life. They are the 'eff you I've got mine' generation. At least all the boomers I work with, am related to, and live by.

I'm not a millenial... I'm not a boomer... I'm that weird shade in between... and I've gotten pretty poor advice from my "boomer parents" as well. The issue is not the initial giving of advice (which can be off the cuff, pulling from their own experiences); it's when you lay out the the paperwork, calculations and spreadsheets showing them **WHY** their advice simply CAN'T work... and they just say "that's not true. You're lying, you just don't want to listen to me" and walk off. THAT is the issue.

People really fail to grasp the relative decrease in income compared to the increase in cost of living that has happened over the last 50 years. A minimum wage job used to be a living wage. Now you need about three such jobs to stand a chance.

As a disabled army veteran that has had to have a service dog now for well over 12 year's it is all of these morons that are going through these mail order registries for their lap dogs are making it so much harder on those of us that actually have to depend on our service dogs

To be fair, the lines out the door and reservations are specific to Christmas in Japan. Most of the time KFC operates as any other fast food place and it's easy to go in and out. KFC is a Japanese Christmas tradition though, so it carries special significance on that day and it is packed for that day!

I understand what you are trying to say, but it is difficult to complain about hardships and be flat-out dismissed or told you must not be working hard enough or spending your money wisely. We live in a different reality now, financially, than we did thirty or fifty years ago. A lot of the frustration so many millenials (and others) express is because our concerns and complaints are dismissed as us being irresponsible rather than indicative of a real problem.

Animals may be specifically trained for emotional support both of the person they are working for -- and for others. My sister has a dog she trained as an emotional support dog -- not for her, but for public service. Her pup has visited colleges during finals week to give students a much-needed place to de-stress. Pups like this may also work in hospitals as volunteers or show up for reading programs to work with kids. Super useful animals which perform a very unique and useful role, but not support for the person they are working with.
