Rafaella - People are diverse no matter their similarities. In other words people who don't eat meat can be as different from one another as the members of the catholic faith. I am vegetarian and would never do this! I do not agree with people that force their pets to be veggies, if you put out a dish of meat and a dish of veggies the carnivorous animal will always pick the meat. That's what separates us from them, the ability to choose.

Not all vegans are members of PETA (or similar group in Spain, if they have one). I'm no fan of PETA, I'm just saying that someone can be a vegan and still keep pets. But keeping a wild animal, no matter how tame, is not OK. They are not bred to be house pets. That animal should have been allowed to grow up in the wild. It's too late now, the fox has no skills for living in the desert, but I hope there's a sanctuary that can take him in, that could provide better care (not that that would be hard!) Idiot.

But the basis of veganism is to minimize animal suffering, and that usually includes the trade of wild animals. Most vegans I know are against animal trade even it comes to domesticated animals - adopt, don't buy. Sure there isn't a rule, but it *is* pretty weird to be against one thing and not the other. It's like as long as the animals are alive, all is good to her.
