I took a second job working as a cashier for 6 months about 2 years ago, and I whole heartedly agree, it's generally the older generations that are the rude ones. There are exceptions of course, but for the most part, people my own generation or younger are much more polite, and/or forgiving, especially about things that you have no control over. I had a lady get irate at me over the fact that I couldn't return several of the items she brought back to the store. Most of them wouldn't scan in our system(meaning we didn't sell them), and she even admitted that she might have bought them at a different store (she didn't have a receipt of course).

Omg I hate that whole 'looking down on people, or mocking people for not knowing something'. No one is born knowing everything, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to learn about something. I also don't think that attitude is exclusive to older generations looking down on millennials, I remember as a kid being teased for not knowing things. No one should every stop learning and expanding their minds.

One thing I wish Facebook would do with is send reminders. I manage my work's Facebook page too, and if someone messages on the weekend or after hours, they get sent a message saying we'll respond during business hours, but then by the time I get into the office the next morning, I've forgotten.

I'd agree if this were in Canada, our Thanksgiving is in October. But if we're talking American Thanksgiving in November then I say whatever floats your boat lol. Some people here get annoyed if people decorate for Christmas before Remembrance Day on November 11 because they say it's disrespectful to the troops. The way I see it though, is that the troops now and in the past have fought for exactly the freedom to do this. I also live near a military base and if you were to ask a soldier, I doubt very many of them would care when you decorate.

I was working at a fast food place when I was a student. I usually did overtime to help everyone clean up and close the restaurant until about 1am because we were so understaffed. I guess people got used to me staying late because one night when I was supposed to finish at 11, I overheard some of my colleagues (the stereotypical mean girls) say how bad the clients had cluttered everything tonight and how it was going to be a mess to clean up. Then they say 'but hey, [me] is gonna stay late tonight again, let's leave it to her, she always does the cleaning anyways', followed by laughing and some b****** about me. That night I clocked out at 11 after doing all of my tasks at the counter and left. The girls stared at me in shock and when I was outside I saw one of them standing in the middle of the restaurant with her hand on her forehead, looking at the mess she would have to clean before going home. Weirdly, after that day, they started cleaning earlier without waiting for me to do everything!
