I suffered a severe traumatic injury over a year ago. I can understand if the contrast between not only the experience he had while unconscious but also his previous, abled life would be difficult to deal with. Going from being an active, independent individual to a life of constant pain and dependence is a terrible adjustment that takes lots and lots of support to endure. I would suspect that having it happen suddenly exacerbates the contrast, but I don't want to minimize the difficulty of the adjustment for those who experience a gradual decline.

I think I could understand the appeal. Go to place where your basic needs are met, you have control, and the world around you is an amazing place to experience vs. leaving that behind and coming to place where everything is a struggle, the criminals are both celebrated and protected by people that only bother to acknowledge us when there is an election. Food, healthcare, housing, energy, and any other basic need is difficult to get. I honestly couldn't say I blame him for not wanting to stick around.

It's good advice. If I would I have bought in my 20s, I would have paid around 60k for my home. In my 30s, that same house would have been 100k. Now, that home is 300k. Traveling is awesome. I was thinking more along the lines of "Based on that vow, every time I make an improvement or a suggestion for change that benefits the company, I will receive 10% (or whatever) of the money I made the company". Then keep running accounts and deduct any error costs from your gains. If you get em to agree, suggest replacing the CEO for a lower paid one and start your account with a few million ahead of the game. :-)

Just a taking a moment for perspective here- How crazy is it that the US has fallen so far that Mitt Romney looks like the rational Republican? If you let that soak in, I think you'll see just how bad things are right now.

I know Trump is a bed stain on the US, and he did a lot of harm. But, much like life, he is pretty incompetent. I grew up Mormon and you are mistaken. While I will admit I don't know everything, the golden plates, seer stones, the magical glasses allowing the plates to be translated and the white salamander letters are all true. The belief is that people dies before the churn was founded and need to baptized into the church. It's why the LDS are leaders in genealogy. They also believe that Kolob is the planet closest to God. The garments are a thing. Up until the 70s, black folks (and maybe all people not white) were not allowed to hold the priesthood. It got changed when the church would lose its tax exempt status for discrimination. I don't see the LDS as any worse than any other major religion but don't deny the facts. And remember, you are in the world, but not of the world.
