Not English native here, but I reflect upon the verb "to bug", with the meaning of "bother", "to cause annoyance". Under that perspective a "bug" is a source of disturbance, hence copper explanation of "the first actual case of a *real* bug being found", meaning a moth that caused troubles to the machine.

Nothing really special, but I was driving on a quiet country road, no traffic, no people around, it was just me in my old VW superbeetle and that pigeon, or crow, or whatever, that was flying as it was crossing the road 20 or 25 feet above me. Nothing really remarkable, but the fact that all of a sudden the bird just stopped flying and fell off onto my car. It must have been dead before hitting my VW in the intersection between the windshield and the A pillar. My beetle got no damage, except for a bloody stain. My pants got damaged.

I can't stop rolling my eyes at this, because they must not be the sharpest tools in the shed to fall for such basic scams, not once, but twice and then post this online. Did they live under a rock before they traveled to Italy, because I know those particular scams aren't even uniquely Italian, they can be found all over the place from Mexico to Nepal and in the age of free, boundless information, there's really no excuse for not knowing this.

Sorry, not a lot of sympathy here. It takes very little to look into it ahead of time and find out what scams are prevalent and how to avoid scams in general. One time "DoInG yOuR Own ReSeArCh" actually pays off.

I'm Italian. I know the supposed scams those two tourists were subjected to. They are easily avoidable in two simple ways. You just say no. I don't want your photo, I don't want your bracelet and so on. Or you don't pay what they are asking for. You give them a reasonable amount if you are willing or you give them nothing and if they are stirring troubles, go find a cop. There are always cops in those touristic places, like the Duomo of Milan or the Castello Sforzesco. They can't do what they are doing and they are going to run like hell. And I'm not saying that what those people are doing is right, but come on. You can't be so gullible to not know that touristic places, and not only in Italy, are a really a good places for this kind of things. You are going to find scammers and pickpockets, so maybe being a little bit more careful and don't trust random strangers would be a good idea.

Well pasta with roast gravy might not be the most famous dish of Italian cuisine, but is not that uncommon here in Italy. I had it a couple of weeks ago. You just cook a roast beef and use its gravy for the pasta. With no additions, no thickeners, and maybe some residue of the herbs and vegetables used for the roast, such as rosemary, carrots, etc

The Company I work for does not offer one tenth of the perks shown in this post. In addition, its offices are located in the farthest outskirts of a big town, with very limited access to even the more basic facilities one might need. Yet I have just left after 10+ hour's work because of deadlines to be met, and I wasn't even the last one to leave my workplace. There's nothing stronger than passion and responsibility to keep you at your desk. If someone decides to be lazy they will be lazy regardless of the perks their company offers to them. Is that company making gazillions of money leaving the crumbs for its employees? Well, I'd go for the crumbs, for there are companies that make similar amounts keeping all for them!

Guy from Milan, here. That is definitely the Duomo. Duomo is a synonym for Cathedral, in Italy, it does not necessarily mean that I'd has a dome. Hence, the cathedral in Milan is never called "cathedral", it's always the "Duomo", whereas the Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence is also known as the Duomo di Firenze, and has a dome.

Italian, here. Although burrata is indeed something heavenly, not everybody likes it on a pizza. In my case it's because I find it a bit intrusive, in terms of flavour. It's a matter of taste. Here, the Burrata alternative is quite common and it's no wonder someone mistake the "plain mozzarella" and burrata when browsing on the menu distractedly. Honestly, I don't think the customer behavior was picky or to be blamed. I'm not a difficult one when it comes to food, but this is something I could do. I'd blame myself and pay for both pizzas, though.
