Spot on. As a doctor, you are absolutely obliged to treat all patients the same way, regardless of age, gender, occupation, and anything else. If one is unable to do this, they simply aren't doctor material and should not be allowed to graduate.

"People need to take better care and precaution of who they choose to accept as their doctor." How? Ask a nurse and she'll refuse to tell you (I've tried), and reliable health grades are very hard to find. You can try looking up malpractice claims, but that's not a reliable indicator since a good doctor could have a claim due to bad luck, and a bad doctor could escape having any malpractice claims.

How deep does that go? I have arthritis in almost every joint and am constantly looking for topicals. Some do well on my back, others my hands and feet. Very few do well for deeper joints, and I have bad reactions to most of those.

I was a TA years ago and had either this Karen or her twin in my class. Immunology Lab. She would follow me around and check that I graded her work correctly after I passed tests back. She made it known by all that she was pre-med, so she HAD to get perfect grades. From what I could see, nothing about her goals had anything to do with helping others, seemed to be very a inward goal, maybe a status symbol? Dunno. She did not understand immunology very deeply as an undergrad though, and now she does have a job as a doctor. Thankfully, very far from me. Though I have never met her after she got what she wanted, I cannot help but feel sorry for the people she does have in her care.
