Raised in a Christian home. Defaulted to my parents' view because I didn't know any better. When I left the church I started reexamining some of my positions and realized that abortions might not even be killing anything that I could call a person. So I did some research on fetal development and the metaphysical definition of personhood. I came to the conclusion that, until six months of pregnancy, it is physically impossible for a fetus to have personhood, and that personhood most likely occurs some time after birth. Then I checked abortion statistics and found that less than 1% of abortions are performed in the third trimester, and the majority of those are to save the woman's life. I can find no satisfying moral justification to force a woman to give birth against her will.Wisterialaneresident reply
One time while working front desk at a gym, a woman complained that there were too many geese outside and they should’ve flown south by then and we needed to do something about it.Ms_Rarity reply
My tall, attractive, athletic first husband was a ballroom dancer. So our first dance at the reception was going to rock, right? I thought I was having fun at the time, but a friend remarked years later we looked terrible. He just looked like he was showing off and it was clear I couldn't keep up. He didn't care at all about slowing down and making us look like a couple. It became a metaphor for our failed 10-year marriage. He only ever cared about his stuff and was constantly inconsiderate of me. My second husband is an awkward, nerdy guy, 2.5" shorter than me. But we took dance lessons together, looked good at our wedding, and had fun.Element_Girl reply
Two months before my wedding I wound up in the burn ICU for a month. We had to cancel my shower and my bachelorette was cut short because I had a panic attack thanks to the resulting PTSD. I was on so many painkillers I don't remember much of the day itself, and I could only bring myself to look at the pictures once. Sometimes I feel like I got cheated out of a happy wedding. But a wedding is just a party, it's the marriage that is important.Show All 17 Upvotes

I can tell you what its like being the unwanted child. I went to the dentist once in my first 17 years. I had broken my nose twice and I just had to walk it off. I never saw a doctor. I would get yelled at if my shoes wore out too quick and they were Payless $19.99 shoes. As soon as was able to drive the dinner table was only set for two instead of three because I could get my own food now. My lunch was a Bologna white bread sandwich and an apple for 10 years straight. Fast forward I moved in with my grandma, she said she would help out with college if I helped out around the house. First few months she got me in the dentist fixed all my teeth and I got some braces on. Second I was a mouth breather so I went to a plastic surgeon fixed my deviated septum right up. She also co signed on a car loan so I could get around. She embraced every friend that came to the house while growing my up friends hid from my dad because he was so mean. My grandma noticed that I would get home and run to my room and one day she told me I don't have to hide in there I can hang out wherever I want. Thats the difference between being a burden and being wanted.Wisterialaneresident reply
