I have had more payments to the school for whatever reason get lost than anything else! Order cookies? Support a fundraiser? Pay for a trip? I learned, ALWAYS get a receipt, or resort to a check so you can prove it was cashed. (see? That age old method still has a use!)

I agree. My disabled son, an 8 year old, loves to wear a green shirt (his favorite color) with a green screen printed dinosaur (his favorite creature). But the school this year banned ALL prints, ALL colors except black, red, blue, and white. Solid only. Problem 1) they say that this is a drug reference, and specifically what he wore was to inform other that he was selling drugs (he doesn't even know what they are yet! Although we had to explain it to him as he cried) and Problem 2) The colors they allow, all happen to be gang colors.....which the administration has ignored repeatedly. (note: NOT related to the post, as that teacher needs some serious adjusting!)

This isn't really gendered it's colored. Only if you assign blue to boys and pink to girls can you say it's really gendered. As it doesn't say 'for boys' or 'for girls' on the packaging. I would've probably liked this as a child.

I don't.... I don't understand. I might give her the excuse that maybe she grew up very, very sheltered, but then I'd think once she met other people, they might correct her. Then again, maybe her circle would be just as sheltered as she was.
