To me, this answer is crass and insensitive. I also want to respond to those who find the prolife/prochoice debate to be a simple, morally uncomplicated issue and suggests that anyone who disagrees with them is either amoral, uncaring or a moron. Let's start with compassion for the person across from you. Let's consider that they care deeply about this issue and may have been impacted on a person level. Maybe they have a family member with Downs Syndrome and can't fathom that some would choose to eliminate those pregnancies. Maybe they've had an abortion because they felt they had to and are racked with grief about the loss or struggling with how to feel about their decision for other reasons. This is a complicated issue that affects people deeply. Insulting another person's intelligence or character never made the world a better place.

1. All life matters. No matter who's it is. Or how long or short it is. No matter race or sex or socioeconomic status. One human life isn't worth more than human another. 2. Life has human rights. The dignity of each life should be respected. The international human rights corpus is a lovely series of UNIVERSAL principles to help define that if you are unsure. NOTE: at the international level rights are given to both mother and UNBORN fetus. The US is singlulary bizarre for only giving rights to mother. 3. Collective effort. It is ALL our responsibility to help protect and nurture life of yourself and others. Affordable care. Increase education and maternity/paternity leaves and childcare assistance. Free sex ed and access to contraception. Adoption that is subsidized and no longer a for profit business. Better paid social workers. Sincere attention to solving the horrors of foster care. To name only a few. 4. Priorities. Sometimes you care more about one element of life than I

I just went through the list and 88% of the posts were about a specific guy "this guy said this to me", or about a specific type of guy "men who say ___ are jerks". Yet people are crying in the comments here "Why are they blaming all men? I didn't do anything? You are so mean!!". They DIDN'T blame all men. You clearly need to work on your reading comprehension skills.

This boy had to apologize to me, in front of the whole class ... and he had to explain, what he was apologizing for. He was also detained for 4 Saturdays, during which he had to clean the school grounds ... for 4 hours each time.

Do you mean the photographers? It's not so simple. But, yes, it's mind-boggling that this stuff continues and that, very likely, these children and, certainly, others are still in harms way. I too hope that something was done to help directly but even those on the ground there may not have the power to change things for these individual kids. The power these photojournalists do have is extremely important, by letting the world see what's really happening so that support can be marshalled to support the changes that can get help directly to these kids and others.

The sad thing is that all of these people believed they were doing the right thing--that they were the heroes. Deception, manipulation, undermining trust in our institutions, promoting conspiracy theories--the megalomaniacs who pushed this this stuff don't care about their country and they certainly don't care about any of their followers.
