Carving pumpkin stems from Ireland. They would actually carve turnips, potatoes, or beets to stave off Stingy Jack or Jack o' lantern. Irish immigrants brought the tradition with them. It changed to pumpkins once it got here.

30 Quirky Comics With Twisted Endings By "The Jenkins"

The "joke" to English speakers is generally that Welsh "doesn't have vowels", even though it actually uses at least one more additional letter as a vowel than English does (w can be a vowel in Welsh, along with the usual a e i o u and sometimes y.) It's usually in response to seeing words like cwn (meaning dog) or cwsg (sleep), because yes, to native English speakers/readers, it sometimes looks a little insane, same as Irish.

My husband started doing Door dash while waiting to hear back from employers. Had to do it for 6 months before finally landing a job. Paid the bills though. (I was also working full time.)

Some dealerships are marking up the values on some in demand vehicles by tens of thousands in some cases! That is why manufacturers are starting to rethink how they sell their vehicles. Ford for instance is considering selling from factory online because dealers are refusing to abide by the rules and people aren’t able to buy vehicles at the rate they want. They manufacturers don’t get the money from the markups

I work at a US lobbying firm, and I'm sure no Redditor would be shocked to hear that US legislators are ignorant. You might be surprised just HOW ill-informed a lot of them are, though. Like the Congressman who believed David Cameron was a member of the Socialist party. Or the one that asked me why we called it Russia now, not the USSR. Or the Senator who told me he'd grown up drinking sea water, and it was healthier for you. Or the governor who thought all Jews were k**led by Hitler. The list could go on.
