I wasn’t even allowed to shut doors as a kid. Bedroom door? Nope. Bathroom door while I was using the bathroom or showering? Nope. I had zero privacy as a child. A child should expect SOME privacy (e.g., bathroom, etc).

It's not right. People should be allowed to disagree with someone's opinion. People should be allowed to down vote, it's their opinion too. But unless you're saying something blatantly hateful/offensive, you should not be banned. One night I was really stoned and decided to make a silly, nonsensical comment on every thread in a post. Apparently that really upset a lot of people, and I got a temporary ban. You can't be arbitrarily silly on BP.

Hey Pandas, What's Something You're Expected To Like But Actually Hate?

Having kids of my own. I do not *dislike* kids and I am not against become a parent, but I just believe it is a huge responsibility and you need certain other things, like financial stability, you cannot afford not to have. Furthermore, I find myself dreading raising kids in a world that seems to be falling apart. At nearly 40, my partner and I are in no rush and we do not see having kids as a requirement, neither for life or for marriage. I really dislike comments from people who think children are either chains for keeping couples together or future servants: -"You'd better hurry, you are getting old" -"You simply have to mature, you will want eventually" -"If you don't want kids now, she will, so buckle up!" -"Who is going to take care of you when you're old?" Jesus, auntie, I don't know. Why is it that none of your ten children are taking care of you?

I’m utterly terrified. I’m happier that it was just given back to the states, but I’m terrified of how our country will become. I can only see overpopulation, hunger, wars, unstable government, and a suffering country. If we want to ban abortions, then we need to make serious reforms. I’m thinking of stuff like 1. A better adoption/foster care system 2. More ways to farm and produce crops without the carbon footprint and such 3. Tackling inflation 4. Better healthcare, even if it is free! 5. Insurance reforms 6. Police reforms 7. Government reforms (like work together, yeesh) 8. Childcare and school reforms (if we gotta have a ton more people, then we’re going to need to make childcare and schools better. For example, raising the pay for teachers to above what an Aldi manager gets, and have better pay for daycare/childcare workers, and new laws protecting workers from those problems.) 9. Building reforms (better buildings, following more strict standards, and can handle more people, along with making more houses). 10. Better pay/lowering gas prices. (Where I live, it’s bad, but I’m more talking about tackling poverty so that families can provide needs.) If we can’t support a growing country, then we’ll have a lot of trouble keeping a democracy. I may be pro life, but nothing good will happen without other changes.

If people cannot reach a compromise, I’m afraid that our country will fall apart. I may not support abortion, but at the same time, I also believe that our government needs to stop acting like brats and idiots, start going on their promises, and then actually f*cking listen to what the people want! People want more than just whatever tf the Supreme Court says; they want help with inflation, gas prices, quality of life, healthcare, and even just not having to decide between hygiene and being able to eat. We need help.

It’s a bad thing. I’m republican and I don’t support abortion but the long term consequences of this will be even more impactful than the actual overturning. From here on out every time a new political party enters office more Supreme Court justices will be added to overturn laws put in place by the other side. This will put the US in a constant state of fluctuating laws and could cause mass corruption if not dealt with.
